You've been ignoring Valentine and Connoric for about a week now slightly enjoying the peace. It reminded you of why you liked being alone though you sorely missed Clementine and the others. As soon as you were about to finish your book, Valentine speaks making you jump from fright.

" Darling...."

You sighed knowing you can't avoid him forever. You closed you book deciding the end should be saved for when you were truly in your head alone.

" What is it-?"

" Why have you ignored me?! I missed you so much. Do you realize how hard it is to see you everyday and not to be able to talk to you? On top of that, I have to be mean to you-."

" How are the children?"

That should be his priority right now, and he pauses before answering.

" They're okay, but they need their mother. Your court date is coming up darling, and we have to talk about it. We need to practice what you're going to say."

" Okay."

" Did.. Did I do something wrong?"

You rubbed your fingers across the cover thinking of your reply.

" I.. I think it's me. I just really need to focus on the kids. That's all."

He doesn't speak for sometime, and you wondered if he got distracted.

" If.. If I seem obsessive, it's our bond. I.. I was just hoping you felt it, too."

That would make a lot of sense to be honest. You've been ignoring... You want to say affection, but it's more like a rage on heat as if you were some animal.

" I do. I guess.. I'm scared of it."

" Don't be my love! It'll all be okay. I promise. But don't shut me out. You don't understand how much it hurts."

You hate this feeling, but you wished so badly to give him a hug.

" Let me show you how it feels."

You were suddenly swallowed by an immense pain you couldn't describe, and it takes your breath away.

" You'll.. You'll start to feel it on your own soon enough as the connection becomes stronger."

" I'm... I'm sorry I made you feel this way."

" It's okay.... Just keep talking please..."

You decide to lay down in to keep him company. That's when you hear the door open above, and you weren't surprise then to hear Connoric's voice in your head.

" I can sense you're talking to him. What about me?...."

" Connoric wants to talk to me."

" Thank you for telling me love. Just tell him to go away."

He walks down a couple of steps, and you realized you didn't say anything. You also became open to his agony, and between the two, you almost couldn't take it.

" Didn't you hear me? Why don't you join me by the fire? You can bring your book, and we don't even have to talk. Just please..."

" Valentine, he's hurting."

" What about me?..."

How ironic? They think alike.

" I'll just talk to both of you. I.. I don't know where this is going to lead, but I'm going to give you both attention."
