The heavy breeze of the sea blew over the Napoleonic french uniformed men, and some had to hold their hats tight to prevent it from going away. These men were aboard a torpedo boat, inside a yawl that was not launched yet.
Stood amongst these men was Astreality, a man of higher rank than all the soldiers in the group, numbering 13 after switching maps. Only one non-10e member was there—hellion—who followed them, continuing to be their sole sharpshooter.
Astreality was their squad leader for this session. The game had also mysteriously recognised his rank as a Sergent, therefore giving him ownership of the distinguished officer class.
Juango, on the other hand, stood as a flagbearer, still waving the 10e banner.
And there is Prince, who switched to a medic. He only figured out moments later that no one else had the cavalry class, which makes them choked out on reconaissance.
They had entered the boat minutes before, from a coastal spawn, after Juango heard the captain about his plans for an amphibious invasion.
On the rear of the boat were the other people—mostly riflemen and the few grenadiers and sappers—chatting amongst each other. A new player had also joined the squad, his name being Greenblox, using the artilleryman class. Howlingwolf, the squad’s only sapper, turned his head toward Greenblox’s. He widened his eyes, as if a ghost apparitioned right in front of him, and announced to himself,
“Muh baby—!”
He jumped onto Greenblox, hugging him tight, although the others weren’t so comfortable about it, being rocked in the shawl.
“Ah god’s sake— back to your seat, please!” Munastronaut snarled, annoyed. Howlingwolf did so, although inviting Greenblox to sit with him. The duo’s seatmates overheard their fishy conversation, looking into the distance as they tried to ignore their strange charade.Just moments later, Danish got up from his seat, looking into the sea. The other soldiers did too, watching something unfold in the far, far distance.
It was a naval battle.
Like a duel, the naval battle only involved two ships. As Astreality raised his binoculars, he saw a red gunboat fighting a blue cruiser. The situation seemed to be not so fortunate for the Gunboat, as it was easily out-gunned by the cruiser. Astreality kept on watching until he noticed the direction of his binoculars changing. He looked down, and saw the torpedo boat they rode turning.
Concerned, Astreality rushed to the torpedo boat’s captain inside the bridge, leaning against the doorframe.
“Are we really going to fight that?” He asked, looking back to the scene. The captain nodded, before hitting him back with a sly response.
“You can try boarding the ship with your men. That will stop the ship from operating faster.”
Astreality nodded slowly in agreement, before returning back to his squad.
“Alright boys!” The squad stood up, shouldering their rifles.
“The captain says he’s attacking that ship. So make sure to get ready, because we’re boarding it.”
The soldiers looked amongst each other, before Prince responded.
“Boarding? Then i’m going to change into a seaman class to fight better.”
Mondrei took notice, and added in,
“Grenadiers should be enough. They’re literally for like, close quarters.”The group nodded in agreement, and soon, half of them reset, respawning as seamen and some as grenadiers. These were; Prince, Danish, Gwen, and Munastronaut as seamen; While Bleep and Greenblox were the new grenadiers. They were mostly armed with double-barrelled shotguns and carbines, to fit perfectly in close quarters combat.
“And what are you gonna do? Stab them with the flagpole?” Mondrei asked Juango, sarcastically. Juango took this as an actual question, and responded, looking up at the banner.
“If possible. That blade up there better be used for once.”
The torpedo boat travelled faster. The waves brushed past its keel, splashing onto the deck above, turning some men wet. After two more minutes, the torpedo boat was now behind the cruiser, about two nautical miles out. The hook of the torpedo slowly lowered, and launched it towards the direction of the enemy cruiser.
Sailors aboard the cruiser spotted the torpedo boat headed for them, and it began to turn to starboard, manouvering away from the torpedo. Shots were fired from the cruiser, although all missing. The 10e held on the deck tight, watching an allied seaman operate the main gun of the torpedo boat.
As the cruiser kept on turning to starboard, the torpedo boat was headed for the same direction.
