I found myself lying on a bed when I gained consciousness. I tried to recall what happened, and my mind flashed an image of a handsome man with gleaming red eyes. I immediately got up, and as my eyes wandered around the place, a scent of metal and a stench of urine hit my nose. There's a toilet and a sink on the side, along with a mirror. The walls are all filled with dirt and moss, and there's a cobweb on one of the corners of the ceiling.

I'm definitely not going to lean on the wall.

I got out of bed and it created a squeaking sound. I pushed my hand against the soft bed again and again, hoping that it wasn't dirty and that there weren't any bugs underneath.

"At least the sheets are clean... right?" I muttered to myself, hoping for the best.

"I can't believe that bastard Felix is able to get away," the person on the cell next to me said.

I walked towards the bars, dragging my foot with me as there was a heavy chain binding me. The chains rang as I walked. I grimaced in disgust, seeing one of the abductors' faces in a cell right in front of mine, and focused deeply on the conversation with the cell next to me.

"He's quite lucky if ya tell me!" the one in front of me said, and they both laughed heartily.

"You guys are quite cheerful when the two of you might die at any moment," one of the prisoners who happened to listen to their conversation said.

The guy in front of me laughed. "Accepting that guy's deal is one step closer to our plan..." he said.

"Our sacrifice is a must for the Sanctuary!" the other man shouted, and it echoed throughout the dungeon.

What are they talking about?

"Oh! Hey lady! You're finally awake, you've been sleeping prettily for almost a whole day," he said, looking towards me with a smile. I replied to him with a glare. "Don't look at me like that! I can't believe a pretty lady like ya is inside a cell of a Dark Empire," he said. His voice was ringing in my ears. It's buzzing to the point that it's irritating!

"I'm not a girl," I corrected him.

The guy chuckled. "If ya say so." He shrugged his shoulders.

I turned my back on him and tried to use my Beyond to escape, but I couldn't feel anything. I couldn't activate my gift! Back at the carriage, I could still feel my power surging through me, but I just couldn't use it. However, inside the cell, I couldn't feel anything.

I can't feel the connection between me and my power.

My heart beat fast, and panic ran through me. I went to the sink to wash my face and to try to relieve my anxiety. My eyes then landed on the mirror, and I saw my expression filled with fear.

I pursed my lips together as I gripped the sink tightly. I tried looking at the mirror once again to bring comfort as I tried to find my mother's face, but I couldn't see it clearly as tears welled up in my eyes, causing my vision to blur. I gripped harder on the sink in anger and fear as I wiped my tears away.

It's a blessing to have her beautiful face, but at the same time, it's a curse. The abductors wouldn't have thought of me as a girl if I didn't look like one and my hair wasn't longer. If they hadn't, they would've left me in the alley, probably on the verge of death, but I would've lived. I wouldn't have to worry about the ladies since the knights were secretly following them.

I bit my lower lip, trying to hold back the tears that were about to fall. I'm going to die the second I get out of the cell. The Dusks are cruel beings. The moment that I breathed the air outside, it would be the final moment of my life.
