Sakura's POV
I've been walking for a day. Hoping someone would be taking a nice cold walk. I looked down at my feet and try to wiggle my toes, but they don't move. My feet scream in agony when I start walking again, but I can't stop."It's cold."
My head snaps up, and I look around for the voice. I squint my eye, but it's no use. I tilt my head up and follow the persons scent. I open my eyes and see that I'm close to the person. I smile for the first time since my parents death with each step I take, the person gets smaller, and smaller. I hadn't realized until I was right behind her... That she was a little girl... about my age.
I tap her shoulder, and she turns around fast. I tilt my head to the side, "Hello." She doesn't say anything. I smile, "I'm Sakura, what's your name?"
She thinks for a moment before answering, "Yuki."
I smile, but then I frown. "Why are you outside? Where's your home?"
She shakes her head, "I d-don't have a h-home."
I frown, but perk up. I grab her gloved hand with my bare one and smile, "Okay! Let's both look for a new home! Together!"
She smiles, "Okay."
We hold hands as we walk through the blizzard. By now I definitely have frostbite on my toe. I think of random things, trying to keep myself from thinking if the pain in my feet. Yuki looks at me and asks, "What is white?"
She looks at me with her big brown eyes, hoping to find a answer to her question.
It takes me only a second to answer, "Something that is not red."
She nods, but looks at me again. "So what is red?"
I was just about to answer, when I feel an evil presence. I push Yuki behind me and look at the place where the evil vibe is coming from. Vampire.
A man in a large coat walks towards us, his eyes glowing red. "Are you lost little girls?" He smiled wickedly, "May I drink your blood?!"
I answer Yuki's question from before... "This is red. Beast in human form... Who drink the blood of living humans." I push Yuki back making her fall into the cold snow. I stand my ground, in front of Yuki, protecting her, as the vampire lunges. Yuki screams as he goes to grab me, "No! Stop!" I scream when I feel his fangs scrape against my neck.
I open my eyes when I no longer hear Yuki scream, but I only when warm liquid falls on my face, I look up.
A man with dark maroon hair, about 15-16, stood in front of us. his hand just inches away from slicing the evil vampire's head off completely. He slid the rest of his head out of the vampire's head, completely chopping it off, and stood away from it. "A disgrace to all vampires."
The man licked the blood off his fingers.
The wind picked up the level-E's coat. It's blue ashes got lifted and taken away by with wind.
Both Yuki and I watched the ashes with blank expressions. The man walked to us with his bloody hand outstretched towards us. I got up as fast as I could and stood in front of Yuki, using my whole body to protect hers. "Stop. Don't get any closer."
He smiled, "I won't hurt you. In fact, I want to help you."
I looked in his searching for any lies, but all I found was honesty. I put my hand into his, not caring about the blood. I mentioned Yuki to join us. She shivered and came to us. I frowned, "Yuki your cold." I pulled her close to me and put my arms around her trying to keep her warm.
*flashback*
I was sitting in the middle of my room, play with my stuffed rabbit. When mama came in.She smiled, "Sakura it's time for you daily practice!"
I put Mr.Carrot away and ran over to mama. "What are we gonna do today mama?"
She thought for awhile, "Since it's winter we can start by teaching you how to heat things up, yea?"
"Okay mama!"
*end of flashback*
I took a deep breath and focused on Yuki's body in my arms. I focused harder when she shivered again. I gasped and I felt a sudden blast of heat all around me. Yuki smiled and hugged me, "Thank you... nee-chan."
The man looked at me, "You're special. Aren't you?"
I nodded and grabbed his hand. I pushed Yuki in between us so that she got most of the heat. We started to walk forward, when I felt a sudden pain in my chest.
I gasped and closed my eyes. My body... What's happening!?! I gripped my shirt and found myself falling forward. The last thing I heard was Yuki calling for me. And the blast of heat disappeared.
~
I groaned and rolled over trying to block the light."So, you're finally awake?"
I gasp, and jump out of the bed I was lying on moments ago. I look over at the unfamiliar man. The man isn't in his Middle Ages, but close to it, his strawberry blond hair pulled back in a ponytail, glasses covering his hazel eyes. I look around the room searching for Yuki, and the man who saved us.
"Hey it's okay. I won't hurt you, you're safe here." The man stands up from his chair and walks towards me slowly. He squats down in front of me, so that he's my height. "It must of been scary out there alone, without anyone." I nodded. "You were very brave sticking up for your sister back there."
I shook my head, "Yuki-chan isn't my sister. I found her. So that means she's mine, so please give her back."
The man looked shocked, but he smiled. "Would you like you see her?"
"Yes please. I'm Sakura Kurata, it's a pleasure to met you sir." I bowed.
A large smile broke out on his face.
..
...
....
....."Awww!!! You're so cute!!!!"
I smiled as he tackled me in a tight hug. He rubbed his cheek against mine, "I could just hug you all day!!!" After about five minutes he calmed himself down. "I'm Kaien Cross." He grabbed my hand, "Now let's go see Yuki!!! But I must tell you, the man that saved you is with her."
"Okay!"
~
Cross took me to a living room, where the back of the couch was facing us."Say 'Ahh..'"
I looked up at Cross, and he put a hand on my back pushing me forward. I winkled my nose at the smell of Jello. I walked around the couch, and looked over the armrest, standing on my tippy toes.
"Yuki."
Her head snapped my direction, and she smiled. I giggled as she tried to crawl to me on the couch, but she kept slipping because the couch was to squishy. I walked to the front of the couch and jumped trying to get on.
Cross laughed and picked me up, "There." I smiled and hugged Yuki. She smiled and hugged me back.
"You're awake."
I looked over at the man sitting on the couch. The man who saved us. "Thank you um.."
"Kaname."
I smiled, "Thank you Kaname."
He smiled, "You don't have to thank me." He held out the jello, "Want some?"
I winkled my nose, "Jello smells funny."
He smiled, "Do you want to feed?"
My eyes widen, and Cross looked confused. I shook my head real fast, "No mama said I haven't reached that point yet." I shook my head again, "You're not to know. I can't.." I start to hyperventilate.
Cross grabs my shoulders, "Sakura, its okay, it's okay. Calm down."
I close my eyes. "Sa...Saku.." I ignore everything and focus on calming down. I manage to calm down and I look down at my hands. "I'm sorry." Yuki looks up at me.
I looked out the window, "Kaname, how do you-"
He smiles, "I could feel it, you are very powerful Sakura. If you don't mind me asking, but why is a pureblood like you doing outside without a guardian?"
I start to cry.
"I'll show you a sweet dream... next night..."
