Chapter 9-

It's Anton.

Rosanne smiles at him. "Sure."

He slowly takes her hand and holds her by the waist as they slowly move to the music. He stills maintains a decent distance, that would tell anyone who watched them that they were just friends dancing.

"What do people talk about when the slow dance like this? Or do they just be quiet?" Rosanne said, nervously.

Anton chuckled, "Just relax."

Rosanne nodded with a smile. "but instead what if you told me about the research that you and Roman are so preoccupied with?"

Anton eyed her casually, "what about it?"

He twirled her around, but before she could land back in his arms, her hand was abruptly taken by another hand.

"I must say, we do meet in peculiar circumstances, always." Roman remarked as his hand slid through her waist, holding her up, and his other hand held hers in a remarkable show of delicacy.

"well a hello should be memorable."

"so you say."

Another twirl.

Anton smirks as them, as he dances with another girl.

"so along with rescuing people without umbrella's, you always randomly dance with them later?" Rosanne joked.

"when I'm willing to indulge, they also get an autograph." Roman retorted. Rosanne chuckled.

"Ah how generous of you." Rosanne stated. Roman nodded with a hint of a smile on his face.

"I can't imagine you get so much time on your hands for all these side quests, when your hands seem to be so full with your highly secretive project." Rosanne said.

Roman considered what she said for a moment, "So you have been talking about me with Amber and Carlos?"

"Makes one curious."

"I won't refute that." Roman acknowledged.

"So, what's the deal? or you're going to have to kill me if you tell me?" Rosanne humoured.

"Come, I want to show you something," Roman spoke, as he offered her his hand, giving her the option to either Take it or leave it.

The butterfly effect.

Strange how some small choices lead us to the most life changing decisions. One wonders what would've been of them-If Rosanne had simply refused to take his hand in that very moment, in that very time, in that very place.

But no one shall know-for Rosanne put her hand in his, and slowly but steadily, Roman's hand engulfed her in a fiery yet comforting grip.

Roman drew her closer, their breath's mingled, as a sort of spark took birth in that moment in the silence that ensued. As if both of their minds had captured each other in a light you see the people you love.

As if love was knocking on their door.

Cupid's arrival announced in cursive writing.

Let me in. Roman's eyes seemed to say.

The music stopped.

Yet the waltz of their lifetime was just beginning.
