The gymnasium was cloaked in darkness, illuminated only by the eerie glow of the overhead lights casting sinister shadows upon the empty space. The air was thick with tension, heavy with the weight of despair as Dong-Eun stood alone, surrounded by her tormentors, their laughter echoing like malevolent whispers in the darkness."Why are you doing this?" Dong-Eun's voice quivered with anguish, her eyes pleading for mercy as she faced the bullies who sought to break her spirit. "Why are you doing this to me? Please!"
But her pleas were met with cruel laughter and mocking taunts, the bullies' voices a chilling echo in the empty gymnasium. With each cruel word and taunting gesture, Dong-Eun felt her resolve waver, her spirit battered by the relentless onslaught of their cruelty.
"I'm so sick of that," Yeon-Jin murmured, her voice barely audible above the din of her and the other bully's laughter. "Why do you people always ask that?"
But the bullies only laughed harder, their mocking laughter ringing in Dong-Eun's ears like a cruel symphony of suffering. With each cruel taunt, Dong-Eun felt a sense of despair gnawing at her soul, threatening to consume her in its suffocating embrace.
"I do it because nothing will ever happen to me," Yeon-jin declared, her voice dripping with disdain as she towered over Dong-Eun, her eyes filled with malice. "And nothing will change no matter what."
Dong-Eun's heart sank as she realized the futility of her situation, the crushing weight of hopelessness threatening to crush her beneath its relentless onslaught. "No one's going to save you," Yeon-jin taunted, her words like daggers piercing Dong-Eun's fragile heart. "Not the cops, not the school, not even your parents."
Tears welled up in Dong-Eun's eyes as the full weight of her despair washed over her, threatening to drown her in its depths. "They're called a loser," the bullies jeered, their cruel laughter echoing in the empty space as Dong-Eun struggled to hold back her tears.
But even as the darkness threatened to consume her, Dong-Eun refused to surrender to despair. With a defiant glare, she squared her shoulders and faced her tormentors head-on, her spirit unbroken by their relentless cruelty. And though the darkness may have surrounded her, Dong-Eun refused to let it extinguish the flicker of hope that burned brightly within her heart. She was in utterly pain. Couldn't hide that.
"Oh, by the way, I heard you're living in a motel, Dong-Eun? Really? I always thought that you've never had a home, no?" Yeon-Jin continued. "It's like something out of a fairytale, right now. We've had the chance to make a powerful friend. Byeong-Ho. She's everything, I've been searching for in someone." She then proceeded to sigh dreamily, which confused Dong-Eun. Did Yeon-Jin liked Byeong-Ho that much? "Guess, you're living in our fairytale with us too, Dong-Eun. Wow, does that makes you my fairy godmother then? Since, you know.." Yeon-Jin sent her a glare, picking up her iron again, twirling it in her hand for some time.
"Since she helped me check my iron, didn't she?" Coming at Dong-Eun, who was pressed up against the walls of the gym, Yeon-Jin pressed the iron against her fairly skin. Her flesh began to sizzle, she let out a painful scream for any of those to hear. "Please, no. You've done enough." Dong-Eun whimpered, being vulnerable, as tears of agony were streaming down her face. That just made Yeon-Jin roll her eyes, as she just pressed the hot iron against her skin again, leaving burnt marks, that would last for a long time. A long time to remember for Yeon-Jin, what she just did to the poor girl.
"No. Let go of me." Dong-Eun screeched, trying to move away from the harsh hold of Myeong-O and Jae-Jun. Yeon-Jin sighed. "Shut her up, Myeong-O, will you?" She asked the male and looked at him.
The gymnasium echoed with the dull thuds of footsteps and the fading, mocking laughter of Dong-Eun's tormentors. Her cries of pain hung in the air, an unseen, suffocating presence that filled the space even as the laughter died down. Yeon-Jin, Myeong-O, and Jae-Jun exchanged glances, their eyes gleaming with the malicious satisfaction of their cruel game.
