Kongpob lifted his head, his eyes filled with a mixture of confusion and fear.
Arthit's heart ached seeing the wariness there, knowing he had been the cause of that uncertainty.
Arthit stood there, watching as Kongpob hurried away, his heart pounding in his chest. He felt a mixture of amusement and affection as he followed him into the bathroom. By the time he got there, Kongpob was already turning on the faucet, the cool water gushing out and filling the tub.
"Kong, you don't have to do all this," Arthit said softly, stepping inside and closing the door behind him."I am fine- it will heal in few hours."
Kongpob's hands were shaking slightly as he adjusted the temperature of the water. "And it would heal in minutes if you do what I say- for once in your life."
Arthit gripped Kong's elbow and made him stand, facing him "When have I ever not listened to you?"
Kongpob's eyes narrowed, gaze steeled "How about every single minute in your life?"
"Really? How can you even say that? who had suggested we go to treasure hunting like Dino the brave Dinosaur, that got us grounded for months?"
"May be that was one exception" Kong reluctantly admitted, not meeting Arthit's gaze.
"And who suggested we should freeze whole water of tank ?" Arthit asked, making Kong mmet his gaze only if to admonish him.
"I did not say freeze the entire tank. You were supposed to put the water in brick mould I made and then freeze it. I just wanted to build an igloo!"
"I got scolded for it! "Arthit argues " No pink milk for three whole days! That was a pure toture but I was more sad that I couldn't build you an igloo! "
"Serves you right! Aunty should have punished you harder. You are reckless! You have no sense of saftey. Serves you right for not thinking before doing something. Like you have done today- almost dying in that god forsaken pool and for what? - to prove you are better? "
"Are you going to ever forgive me about it?"
"Not even in next seven lifetimes" Kong turned the faucet off. "Get in"
"Eighth lifetime is too long away! Can't wait for that long. I know how to dissipate your anger..come here... " Arthit was about to pull Kong but the latter skidded back " Don't you dare. It will be freezing cold. I have no intentions of freezing my ass off because you lack common sense of not getting hurt"
"It won't be freezing- it will be warm. Promise. I will maintain the temperature"
KOng glared " This is for you to relax - not spend more energy"
Arthit smiled,"Hqving you with me is my source of energy Kongy"
Kongpob turned to face him, his eyes still filled with worry and a touch of fear. "You need to spend time in your element, Phi. You need this."
Arthit reached out and gently took Kongpob's hand, guiding him away from the tub for a moment. "I need you with me more," he said, his voice steady and sincere. "I need to make sure you are not worried anymore."
"With how stupid you are, There's nil chance of me ever stop worrying about you."
"So nagging" Arthit pulled Kongpob towards him- by making an ice slide that will land Kong straight in to his lap."But I appreciate youalways looking out for me< Kong."
Kongpob's breath hitched slightly as he looked into Arthit's eyes. "I... I don't want you to get hurt again. You scared me today."
"I know, and I'm sorry for that," Arthit replied, pulling Kongpob closer. "I was trying to show you how much I care, how much I want to make you happy. But I went about it the wrong way."
