"It's a boarding school." my father said to me.

"A boarding school?!" I exclaimed. I was not too happy about this. Don't get me wrong I felt incredibly lucky to have found a school and I will go of course, but why did it have to be a boarding school?

"Weren't there any public schools?" I asked.

"No, there weren't actually. I have literally called every public high school in Melbourne and they all rejected you. One of them gave me the phone number of this boarding school though, saying that they might take you in, and so I called, and they had a spot for you. I made the arrangement right away. I had to pay tuition as well because it's a private school, but that's okay. I just want you to get your diploma." he explained and I let out a groan.

"Fucking great. So I will have to move out of here and live with people I don't know. That will not be easy." I said as I thought about it. Nobody knew this about me, but I got homesick easily. I never told anyone because I felt embarrassed about it. This house, my home, was my safe space and leaving it would be hard, but I also knew that this was probably my only option and so I was going to have to do it.

"Please Hanni, promise me you will try your best. Promise me that you will be on your best behaviour and that you will do your best to graduate. If you don't, if you throw this away again, there won't be any more chances for you. It'll be over." he said.

"I know, I will try dad, really, I promise. You know what they say, three times is a charm." I said, ending my sentence with a joke to lighten up the mood a little.

"Thank you. Come here." he said as he pulled me into a hug.

"I'm sorry I made a mess like this again dad. I promise I will try to do better." I said.

"It's okay, I forgive you. I know things haven't been easy. I'm happy you will do your best this time." he said before he pulled away from the hug.

"I thought that maybe we could take a look at the school's website together, so you can see where you will be going, if you'd like that?" he suggested as he pointed at the laptop that stood behind him on the dining table.

"Yeah, I'd like that." I said with a soft smile.

Every vessel in my body wanted to fight this whole boarding school idea. I wanted to argue and yell at my dad what a bad idea this was and I wanted to protest that I wouldn't go, but I knew that would have been useless. This school was the only school that would take me in and so it was my only option. I had to go, and the sooner I wrapped my mind around that, the better. And so I accepted my fate. I wasn't excited though, and I was already dreading the day I had to move there, but there was simply nothing I could do about it.

"Alright so this is the school." my dad said as he opened his laptop and I sat on the chair beside him as I looked at the screen.

'Marysville Private School For Girls' I read in big letters on the screen.

"Wow, what an original name." I said sarcastically and my dad chuckled.

"It's an all girls school?" I then asked.

"Yes, it is. So I'm afraid you won't have your high school romance." he joked.

"I'll catch up in college." I joked back.

"Yeah, we'll talk about that later." he said and I chuckled.

The school was located in Marysville, which was a small city about an hour and a half away from here. Marysville was pretty big, but most of the area was forest and nature. There didn't actually live a whole lot of people there.

"This is what the building looks like." he said as he showed me pictures of the school building and the surrounding area. The building itself looked like an old castle of some sorts. You could see that they renovated it a bit here and there though, but it still looked pretty cool. They had a sports field as well and a pretty garden. It looked like something out of a movie and although I hated the idea of a boarding school, this place actually seemed pretty cool to have as your home.
