Fredrick stands in the ballroom near the thrones and the large dining table

Fredrick: "GERTRUDE! LUCILLE! EMILY! EDMUND! I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS THE BALL WITH EVERYONE!"

Gertrude, Lucille, Emily, and Edmund enter stage right, each one of them looking in different directions.

Fredrick: "What are you wearing Lucille? I thought your mother was making you wear the dress you wore last year?" he says in disbelief "And Edmund, What is on your face? I thought you didn't like looking feminine!"

Edmund: "Gertrude did it." he says pointing at Gertrude, who had a smirk on his face

Gertrude: "Actually, It was lady Emily." he says, pointing at Emily

Emily: "You asked me too!" she explodes

Fredrick looks at Gertrude, with his eyebrow up once again

Gertrude: "Well to be bluntly honest Edmund said he wanted me to make him pretty, Sire. And I was just doing my job, Sire."

Edmund: "This isn't even what I was asking for..." He says, even though it's what he asked for.

Lucille: "Father?" she says, being left out "Do you not approve of the outfit?" she said in a snooty voice

Fredrick: "Well...Not to be rude to your mother's mother's dress but that dress looks better than that dress will ever look."

Elizabeth enters stage right

Elizabeth: "Now, We must be getting ready for the Ball, The guests will- EDMUND!!" she says, startled

Edmund: "Hm, What?" he says, completely blanking out of the conversation

Elizabeth: "What in the Lord's Name is on your face!" she stares at him "IS THAT MAKEUP!?"

Edmund: "Gertrude did it. Mom, it is makeup.."

Emily: "Not this again" She says rubbing her forehead with her forefinger and thumb

Gertrude: "Well, yes. It is my fault, but Edmund's exact words were "Just make me look pretty."

Edem enters stage left with an apple in hand, and she was eating it.

Emily: "SIS!" she yells at the site of her sister

Edem: "Mhm?" she hums because her apple is in her mouth, then she swallows then she says "What is it, Em?"

Gertrude: "We need you to be a mediator." he says blankly

Edem: "Oh. Then what's the problem?" she smiles

Elizabeth: "Well, I'm mad because Edmund is wearing makeup, and I didn't know about it."

Edem: "Oh. Okay, continue."

Edmund: "I keep saying that Gertrude did it because he did, regardless of what I probably didn't say."

Edem: "Mhm. Continue."

Gertrude: "Edmund told me to make him look pretty and I did so. I was just doing what I was hired to do."

Edem: "I see, please continue."

Emily: "But the first time that Edmund told everyone that Gertrude did it, Gertrude told everyone that I did it!"

Edem: "I have made my decision. First, My queen, I'm sorry that Edmund didn't tell you. Young prince, apologize please."

Edmund: "I'm sorry, Mom..."

Edem: "Good, now, young prince, I was walking by your room, and indeed, you said "Just make me look pretty." Gertrude, you did what he wanted you to do, cause dang, he looks pretty."

Edmund: "Thanks Edem..."

Edem: "You're welcome, young prince, Emily, I love you but YOU DIDN'T NEED TO SAY THAT. Also, Lucille, don't you leave this room."

Lucille stops right in her tracks when she is about to exit the stage, on the right.

Lucille: "Hehe. I was not about to leave, I don't know what you mean. Also, Edmund, You do look very pretty."

Edmund's face turns a bashful color because of the amount of compliments he is getting.

Edem: "OH! Look at the time! I've got to tend to my garden!" she says, then she runs off stage left.

Elizabeth: "Oh my stars! I have to go to the powder room to put on my makeup! Goodbye love!" she says, kissing Fredrick's cheek then runs off stage left behind Edem.

Fredrick: "Gertrude, me and you are going to have to set up for the Ball." Fredrick walks off stage, then Gertrude nods and walks behind him.

Emily: "My princess! We need to get you ready for the Ball!" she ushers Lucille off stage left.

Edmund: "I guess I'll leave too. But... What if there is a handsome prince that wants to talk to me?" he fixes his hair by using his hands "I'll just go..." Edmund walks off stage left.
