I sigh heavily as I lug my bag in through the front door of my new place, and I groan loudly as I set it with the rest. "Here, this should be the last one." My new roommate, and best friend, places the last bag with the others before turning to me with a big grin. "Thanks James, I really appreciate the help." He pats me on the head gently "If you need any help unpacking, let me know." And with that, he leaves the room. I stand there silent for a bit, attempting to process the last six hours.

I start with unpacking my bedding, and set my bed up first so I can unpack my stuffed animals next. I take my time placing my stuffed animals on my bed, making sure everything is organized nicely. I unpack all the important things, before moving to my closet to unpack my clothes. When I pull out my binder, the thoughts begin. I sigh as I shove it into a bag on the top shelf of the closet, tucking it out of sight. I barely pass as is, so how's that gonna change anything? I sigh again, stopping to stare at the bag on the shelf. I want to save it for the memories, but right now it feels more like torture... I close the closet door, turning my back to it. I decide to hang my drawings up next, trying to ignore the thoughts.

And with that I decide I'm done for the day.

James knocks on my door softly, startling me slightly. I turn around to face the door as James opens it "What's up?" I smile softly, plopping down onto my bed. "I was just going to order some food, and I was wondering if you wanted anything?" I hum "Can we get pizza?" He nods softly and smiles, before pulling out his phone. "What kind?" I tilt my head to the side, getting a better look at his face as he stares down at his phone. He scrunches his face in disgust "Who the fuck puts cauliflower on pizza?" His question makes me laugh. "Can we just get some meat lovers?"

"That's what she said." James laughs at his own joke "Yeah, that's not a problem." He responds, and I laugh softly kicking my feet gently. "Oh! Do you wanna watch that one movie while we eat?" I give him a confused look "That one movie?" I laugh softly, and James playfully scoffs "I don't remember the name of it, it's the movie you've been talking about wanting to watch." I hum "Oh! That one! Yeah, I'd love that." He smiles softly, and nods in response.

I jump up from my bed, and follow James to the living room where I'm greeted by Otto. I smile brightly as I pick him up, holding him gently as I bury my face in his fur. James sits down on the couch, patting the seat next to him as he smiles at me softly. I sit beside him and bring my legs up onto the couch, still cradling Otto as I smother him with kisses. James laughs softly "Be careful, I don't want you getting scratched." I return the smile "He won't, because he loves me." I respond in a baby voice, giggling softly.

I let Otto go and he curls up in my lap, and I look to James with a smug grin. He shakes his head, turning his attention back to the TV. "Thank you, James." I smile sadly, looking down at the purring furball in my lap. "For what?" He questions, and I shrug. He laughs softly and ruffles my hair, making me scrunch my face. James gets up to get the pizza, and Otto follows close behind him. I turn my attention to the TV, and bring my knees to my chest. I look around the living room and take in my surroundings, still trying to process the day I've had so far. I sigh softly, and hug my knees tightly as I rest my chin on my knees. I hum softly as I wait patiently for James to come back, rocking myself gently for comfort.

James comes back with the pizza, and sets it down on the coffee table. Otto curls up next to me on the couch, and I gently rub his head as he purrs. James grabs a slice of pizza before sitting back down, and I grab one as well. "I have to leave tomorrow to film a video with Will, will you be alright?" I nod and smile softly "Yeah, I'll have Otto with me anyways." James laughs softly "Good." He ruffles my hair again, and I laugh softly in response. "I'll have to leave pretty early, but I'll try to let you know before I leave." I nod and he smiles softly, before turning his attention back to the movie.

James and I spend most of the night throwing jokes back and forth, and laughing at our own dumb jokes until our stomachs ache. We've both gone delirious from tiredness, and I can feel my body getting heavier by the second. "Are you tired?" James tilts his head to the side, and I nod. "Yeah, but I'll-" I yawn mid sentence "I'll be fine." I smile softly, and James laughs. "I think you should rest." He gently nudges me, and I groan. I lay down on the couch, and James sighs "That's not what I meant, you dumbass." He laughs softly as he gets up.

He leaves for a moment, and then comes back with a blanket. He drapes the blanket over me, and sits back down at my feet. Otto curls up by my head, and immediately starts purring. I rock softly for comfort, and James rests his head on the back of the couch as he smiles down at me. "I can tell it's gonna be a lot of fun having you here." I return the smile "Yeah, if we don't stay up until 3am everyday." We both laugh "I wouldn't mind the late nights with you." He responds, and I scoff playfully "Ok cornball, shut up." He laughs softly, and I yawn again. "Get some sleep, y/n. I'll be here when you wake up." I nod softly, and close my eyes.
