The Current Galaxy
Twenty standard years have passed since the end of the Third Galactic Civil War and the defeat of Darth Kurgan and his New Empire on Naboo. In the aftermath, the galaxy has entered an unprecedented era of peace and prosperity. The New Rebellion reorganized into the Colonial Alliance, fulfilling the true vision of freedom and democracy that the heroes of old had fought so hard to achieve.
Many planets and species that allied with the New Rebellion during the war joined the Colonial Alliance, including Mon Cala, Cybertron, and Kuat, among others. However, not all former allies became members immediately. Some, like the Jedi Order, the Yautja species, and the Mandalorians, chose to return to neutrality. Despite this, they made it clear to the Colonial Alliance that, should they ever call for aid, their assistance would not go unanswered. It is not uncommon to see members of these groups serving in some capacity within the Colonial Alliance military.
Military
At the war's end, it became clear that the New Rebellion's military needed a complete overhaul. The brightest military minds of the conflict came together to develop a more streamlined and organized doctrine, which has since become the standard. During the height of the war, there was no dedicated ship classification system, leading to inefficient fleet compositions. That changed after the war, with the introduction of new starship classifications that remain in service to this day.
For support ships, including frigates and gunboats, past designs were revisited, improved, and modernized for current-generation use. The same approach was applied to starfighters, weapons, equipment, and personnel uniforms, ensuring the Colonial Alliance military remained cutting-edge.
