A/N: also guys, I just realized, that I made a mistake in chapter 15. I just remembered that Erin's father was named John, and the man that was threatening her before Starscream was also named John, even though he wasn't supposed to be her father. So, I changed his name :p

It has been a few hours since Starscream and Knockout tried to pry the necklace for me. I was later moved to another facility, where M.E.C.H took charge of me. I was in a brightly lit room, in a prison cell.
Tears streamed down my cheeks, as I thought that this necklace was connected to my life. My soul. And removing it, could kill me.
But how was this possible? I started to question everything.
I started to question my will.
My usefulness.
My existence.
Was I even human? I was sure of it!
Even though being a human sometimes sucks, I still love it and wouldn't change it for the world.
I sat in the corner of my cell, thinking about it, when I heard footsteps.
"Wake up," he said in a demanding voice. I looked up at him. My hair was a big mess, my eyes were red and I had tear stains on my cheeks.
"You're so pathetic. You think the torture given to you earlier was too much? Well, I can't wait to see how you'll handle what's going to come for you next," he laughed with a snarl.
What do you want Dad? I signed angrily.
"I'm here to talk to you. It's time that you knew the truth," he said cunningly. I turned my head away from him. However, I was curious to what he had to say.
I turned my head back to face him, my eyes narrowing in suspicion. What truth? I signed, my hands shaking with anger.
John smiled, a cold and calculated smile. "The truth about your past, Erin. About your childhood."
He handed me a file, thick with papers and photographs. I took it hesitantly, my heart racing with anticipation.
As I opened the file, a wave of shock washed over me. The first photograph showed a young girl, no more than five years old, with a bright smile and sparkling eyes. But it was the caption that made my blood run cold: "
Subject: Erin, Age 5
Experiment: Cyber-Human Enhancement
Result: FailureSummary:
Erin was selected as a candidate for the Cyber-Human Enhancement program due to her exceptional genetic makeup and potential for advanced cognitive abilities. The goal of the experiment was to enhance her physical and mental capabilities, creating a being with superior strength, agility, and intelligence.
Procedure:
- Genetic engineering: Erin's DNA was altered to incorporate cybernetic enhancements, including advanced neural networks and enhanced muscle tissue.
- Cybernetic implantation: A neural implant was inserted into Erin's brain to facilitate advanced cognitive functions and connectivity to M.E.C.H.'s mainframe.
- Training and conditioning: Erin was subjected to rigorous training and conditioning programs to develop her physical and mental abilities. Results:
- Initial results showed promise, with Erin demonstrating enhanced strength and agility.
- However, as the experiment progressed, Erin's cognitive abilities failed to develop as expected.
- Despite intense training and conditioning, Erin remained mute and unable to communicate effectively.
- The neural implant malfunctioned, causing erratic behavior and unpredictable outbursts.
