It had been three days since my rescue from the Decepticons' clutches. Three days since I was kidnapped, tortured, and left for dead. But thanks to my friends, I was alive and safe.
Ratchet had been tending to my injuries since my return. He and Ms Darby had done his best to heal my physical wounds, but I knew I still had a long way to go in terms of recovery.
"Erin, I think it's time for you to take a break," Ratchet said, his voice firm but gentle. "You've been through a lot, and your body needs time to heal. Why don't you go home and rest for a few days?"
I nodded, knowing he was right. I was still feeling weak and sore, and the memories of my ordeal were still fresh in my mind.

As I walked into the house, I was greeted by the warm smile of Ms. Darby. "Welcome home, Erin! How are you feeling?"
I nodded, using ASL to respond, I'm doing okay, just a little tired and sore.
Ms. Darby nodded understandingly. "You're home now, and that's where you need to be. Jack is in his room, by the way. He's been worried sick about you."
I smiled, feeling a sense of comfort knowing that Jack was just a room away. I signed, I'll go say hi to him in a bit.
Ms. Darby helped me settle in, bringing me a blanket and a glass of water. "Just rest for now, Erin. You can catch up with Jack later."
As I lay there, I could feel the weight of my ordeal slowly lifting off my shoulders. Being in a safe and familiar place, surrounded by people who cared about me and knew how to communicate with me, was exactly what I needed.
After a while, Jack came into the living room, a big smile on his face. "Hey, Erin! It's so great to see you home and safe!"
I smiled back, using ASL to respond, Thanks, Jack. It's good to be home.
We chatted for a bit, catching up on everything that had happened since my rescue. Jack used ASL to fill me in on what had been going on at the Autobot base, and I shared some of my experiences during my captivity using a combination of ASL and writing notes.
After our chat, Jack went back to his room, leaving me to rest. I closed my eyes, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. I knew that I still had a long way to go in terms of recovery, but with my loved ones by my side, I felt like I could face anything.
As I continued to rest and recover, I heard a knock at the door a few hours later. Jack got up to answer it, and I could see Raf and Miko standing in the doorway, big smiles on their faces.
"Hey, Erin! We heard you were doing better, so we thought we'd come visit," Raf said, holding up a familiar box. "I brought Monopoly! I figured it was time to get your mind off things and have some fun."
I grinned, excited to play one of my favorite games. Jack helped me get settled in, and Raf began setting up the board.
"We're so glad to see you're doing better, Erin. We've been worried about you," Miko said.
I nodded, feeling grateful for their support. Thanks, guys. It means a lot to me.
As we started playing Monopoly, I could feel my stress and anxiety melting away. Raf was a fierce competitor, but I held my own, determined to win.
Miko cheered us on. "Go, Raf! Show Erin who's boss! You got this Jack!"
"Who's side are you on?" Jack asked Miko who shrugged. I laughed quietly. We played for hours before Raf and Miko had to go home. I managed to own three colour sets and two houses on each property, however, I was broke as hell. We waved at each other goodbye and Miko promised that they'd be back.
