After that chaotic round of Red Light Green Light, Optimus continued decoding the next set of Iacon coordinates, while the four of us were making plans for our upcoming holidays, in between relic-hunting and summer school. Most of our plans were pretty simple; just hang around Jasper and find some interesting things we could do here, which is not really much.
But most of all, we were still shocked that we were the hope and the future of Cybertron’s restoration. It was a big responsibility to uphold. I honestly can’t even imagine how hard it is for the Autobots, to trust beings way smaller, way more fragile and way younger than them, their planet. Quite ironic actually, considering we must trust them to save our planet and they must trust us to save their planet. It almost makes me want to laugh. But I guess it’s a fair deal, maybe?
I honestly don’t even know. My thoughts are clouded at this point. Maybe it’s because of sleep deprivation or the overwhelming feeling.
In fact, I kept thinking so much about this that I almost forgot that my father was on the loose. I haven’t told anyone else yet; only Jack and I know. It still scares me to think that I’m going to reunite with him again soon. I know I will eventually.
As I stood there, lost in thought, I felt Jack nudge me.
"Hey, you ok? You zoned out for a sec," he asked, a little concerned. I just nodded.
Yeah, just thinking of stuff. I signed.
Jack gave me a knowing look, but didn't press the issue. He understood that I had a lot on my mind, and I appreciated his consideration. We stood there in silence for a moment, watching Optimus work his magic, decoding the coordinates.
"I am nearly finished decoding the coordinates," Optimus announced. Suddenly, the monitor next to him started beeping.
"You may not have to finish your task, Optimus," Ratchet said. "It's an Iacon- locator beacon."
"Think the cons may have already unearthed the relic?" Smokescreen asked.
"It would appear so. Ratchet, open a groundbridge to those coordinates. Arcee, Bulkhead, Bumblebee, come with me," Optimus instructed.
Smokescreen whined like a child, "Aww, come on, Optimus! I'm always getting left behind! Can't I just come along this one time? I promise I'll be careful!"
Optimus turned to him with a firm but gentle tone, "Smokescreen, we need you to stay here and protect the base. We can't risk losing our home turf."
Smokescreen sighed as the groundbridge opened.
Optimus and the others opened a groundbridge to the original coordinates. They stepped through, ready for battle.

"Hey doc! Did Optimus say anything yet??" Smokescreen asked impatiently. I was leaning against the rail and watching him argue with Ratchet. Jack was standing next to me while Raf was helping Miko with her homework.
"For the fifth time, Optimus still hasn't reported in yet! Will you quit bothering me!" Ratchet yelled, annoyed.
"Hey Smokescreen!" Jack called.
You want to see my fake leg? I signed. Obviously, I was uncomfortable with that, but I can tell Ratchet was starting to get annoyed with Smokey and I had to distract him.
Sigh, he's like a child.
"Yeah!" His eyes gleamed. I rolled up my pants to 3/4 of my leg, revealing the prosthetic leg.
"Woah, that is quite cool!" He smiled. Before I could sign more, we heard another beeping coming from the monitors.
"Ratchet, what's that?" Jack asked.
