[The following day, the campers stand opposite each other, one group on one side with bronze shields that have a red stripe and the other side having blue on their shields. Luke and Percy walk side by side through the middle of the two groups.]

Luke: You're gonna love this. Camp-wide mock warfare, all glory to the victors. Annabeth's the head counsellor of the Athena cabin.

[Anthea is seen standing with the rest of her cabin, trying to get them all to hit the sandbag as hard as they can.]

Luke cont.: She's led our team to three straight wins. Been a long time since anyone's won a fourth.

Percy: She was there in the bathroom.

[Annabeth continues watching her cabin, impressed by some as they knock others down. She looks up to watch Luke and Percy for a moment.]

Percy cont.: She said she'd been waiting for it to happen.

Luke: Annabeth sees the world differently. Always six steps ahead of everyone else. You should cut her a break.

Percy: Whose side are you on, anyways?

Luke: Oh, hers, always. She's my little sister. [Percy stares up at Luke, a look of confusion rushing on his face when he says this.] Maybe I should back up.

[The scene changes and Luke and Percy at seen at in the pavilion once more at one of the tables.]

Luke: Before camp, I was on the road. Me and a forbidden kid I met along the way. Her name was Thalia.

Percy: [confused] What does that mean, forbidden?

Luke: A long time ago, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades agreed their children were becoming too powerful, so they made a pacy not to father any more. And it held for a long time, until Zeus broke that pact. Until Thalia. A forbidden kid attracts trouble. Monsters everywhere, it's just a constant battle to stay alive. One day, we, uh, find this little girl hiding in an alley. Annabeth. We were worried about taking her in, exposing her to all that danger. Then we saw her fight. [Luke laughs softly.] Thalia didn't make it. And Annabeth and me... we did. And we've been family ever since.

Percy: She's been watching me since I got here. Why?

Luke: She's been watching your sister as well, but it's easier for her to watch your sister since they became friends. But, Annabeth is the strongest warrior in camp. The only way left to prove herself is to go on a quest.

Percy: And what does this have to do with us?

Luke: Chiron's been promising her for years. One day, two demigods would arrive who were fated to go on a quest that even Chiron couldn't prevent. And when that happened, she could join it. Evey new arrival, Annabeth watches, looking for a sign they're the one. Usually, she gives up after a day or two, but she's still watching the both of you.

Percy: Can you ask her to knock it off?

Luke: Yeah, sure. But, what if she's right?

[Suddenly, a conch shell is blown and Chiron comes to the Pavilion.]

Chiron: Heroes... [he looks down at his pocket watch before looking up again] it's time. [he slowly tucks his pocket watch in his pocket] The game begins.

"What game?" Neville questions, turning to look at Anthea who just holds a smirk on her face.

"You'll see," Anthea tells them.
