'My eyes hurt'

After crying my eyes out in my mother's arms, I ended up falling asleep without even realizing it. By the time I opened my eyes, the sun had already begun to set. Since Mother wasn't in the house, she must have gone to work. "..." Now that I think about it, in my dreams, my mother died of illness. While my mother was sick, we had to spend more money than ever, even though we were already poor... After my mother died, I was left alone in the house with barely enough money to survive. "...After that, the Duke of Eckhart found me." That was where my dark future began. "I can't go down that path again." No, I absolutely must avoid it. To change the future... Maybe I should start with what's going on now. Two years—that's how much time I have. Getting up from our 'bed', I went to the kitchen to look for any newspapers lying around, and sure enough, there were.

As expected, there was news about the kidnapping on the front page of the paper. The only problem was... 'District O...' "Rumor has it, a baron was supporting them." "What? Is it true?"  "yes! most of the victims even testified!" In my dream, I overheard from one of the maids that a noble was involved in that incident. That was why it took so long to apprehend the criminal. And why the place they're checking is far away from District XXX, where the real base is. Even if I manage to help the knights catch the criminals, if the baron gets away, nothing will change. Worse, he might come to find me as the snitch who stopped his kidnapping schemes. Just thinking about it is giving me major headaches.

"..."

Another thing I noticed after waking up from my 'dream' is the fact that I could read. I touched the printed letters over the newspaper and read each word in my mind correctly. Despite being ten years old, I never once held a book in my life. Though my mother taught me many things, she never taught me how to read, as we didn't have any books. 'I guess this is another change after waking up from my dream'. Shaking my head, I focused on what was more important: the kidnapper. Since there's a lot to consider, I spent all of my time thinking of plans and solutions to save the kidnapped women. Thankfully, Mother came home after I managed everything. So the day ended without much of a problem. 'Please wait for me, I promise I'll save each of you somehow'
