Kira spoke with Aizawa. While all the other students were trying out new "ultimate moves" they were discussing her quirk.
He had several theories, things that might be possible for it to do that she had no idea about. Most of the time this process was done at a very young age, during quirk therapy.
But we all know that didn't turn out very well for our young mindreader.
So now Aizawa was doing the job of one. Testing out each possibility with her.
"Do you think your quirk could work the opposite way?" Aizawa asked her, they were sitting on the sidelines of the new training center. Explosions and fighting going on in the distance as each of her classmates tried new flashy moves."Like Mandalay's?" Kira asked with a frown.
"Yes, have you ever tried to project your own thoughts?" He asked. "To relay information to someone else?"
"No." She shrugged.
"Do it. Focus on me and try to force your thoughts on me." Her teacher instructed.
She shrugged and closed her eyes. Thinking very loudly. Trying to force her thoughts into his mind.
'Hello??? HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO?!!'It didn't work.
He showed no reaction, not even a flinch. Kira rolled her eyes and screamed mentally, doing what she hated for other people to do. Over and over again. "AHHHHHHHHHHH AH AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
But there was nothing.
"Alright." Aizawa sighed, he didn't seem happy about this. His mind thinking about any possibility. "There's no way her quirk is just this... There has to be more."
"Well I don't have any ideas. As far as I know this is it." Kira said with a frown.
"Alright. Let's start over. How does your quirk work?" He asked. "What makes it stronger? Weaker?"
"Physical contact makes it stronger." Kira said and he nodded along. "And barriers make it weaker."
"So your quirk is at it's absolute strongest when you're just touching someone?" He asked.
Kira hesitated. "Um... Yep." She nodded. She wasn't about to admit that kissing also made it way stronger. Not too her teacher at least. She hadn't even told Bakugou about that yet.
He frowned, sensing she wasn't telling the whole truth. But he didn't say anything about it.
"Okay." He said. "I think we need to get down to the science of your quirk. How it works and why. Then we'd be able to guess at what other possibilities there are."
He stood up. "But... I can't do that."
"Damn it." Kira mumbled.
"We'd have to call in a professional." He continued, knowing she didn't love the idea of another quirk doctor. "But I know several people that are very trustworthy."
"What about recovery girl?" Kira asked hopefully.
"Recovery Girl specializes in physical injuries and healing. Not quirks." He shook his head. "She wouldn't be much help, we need someone with the proper equipment. Able to run blood tests and maybe do some scans."
"Egh, what's wrong with the way I am now?" She asked with a frown.
"If you found out there was a way to control it, would you use it?" Aizawa asked. "If there was a way to expand and decrease your range?"
Kira stared at him, not answering. Because he might be right.
Her whole life she had assumed that this was it, that there wasn't anything more to her quirk. The idea that there could be something more actually made her a little scared.
