I looked at myself in the mirror, smoothing out my black dress. The tight silk wrinkling slightly against my skin, it was made that way, though. The long sleeves not really keep me warm, considering they were thin and see-through. I was just glad the actual dress wasn't.

I slid on my dark red heels, fastening the singular strap. I grabbed a golden necklace that Lucy had gifted me and put it on. I looked back in the mirror as I stared at the golden chain with a moon charm on the end, also golden.

I fluffed out my curly hair before checking my phone. Lucy texted me, saying she was ready. I quickly texted back, saying I was on my way to pick her up.

I walked into the living room, telling my mom I was ready to go get Lucy. My mom and dad turned to look at me.

" Nope. You are not going to a party in that dress, too short. " My dad said.

I rolled my eyes and quickly responded, " It's an all girl party, dad, it's fine. The only guy that will be there is Aiden because Lucy basically begged Alexis. "

He scoffed but didn't say anything else. My mom gave me a look, and I looked away. Her and my sister are the only people in my family who know I'm gay.

We got in the car and drove to Lucys house. I knocked, and she stepped out. She was wearing a knee-length pink dress, skin tight. It had one strap that wrapped around the neck, with a small bow on the back of the strap.

Her heels were white with thin straps that went up to about the halfway mark on her calf. her purse was a little white handbag, big enough to hold her phone, lipgloss, and some money.

Her hair was pin straight, half up half down, with a pink bow in it that matched the dress. She smiled and got in the car.

" You look so good, kylie! " She gleamed, buckling up.

" So do you! The dress ate! " I giggled back, turning slightly to see her in the back seat.

We talked the whole way there, and eventually, we were standing outside of Alexis's front door. I sighed and looked at Lucy with pleading eyes.

" Fine. " She rolled her eyes and knocked so I didn't have to.

Christina, another girl in colorgaurd, opened the door and smiled.

" Lucy, Kylie! You made it! " She smiled widely, pulling Lucy into a hug. Lucy had always been closer to Christina, and I was closer to Alexis.

Though Lucys friendship with Christina was completely platonic, mine with Alexis wasn't. At least not on my part.

I smiled at her, and she led us in. I looked around for any more familiar faces. It was basically all the female marching band members and a few high schoolers. Some I recognized some I didn't.

I noticed Alexis in the corner, talking to Kayden. I turned to Lucy.

" Hey, Im gonna go say hi to Alexis! " I said loudly, trying to make sure she heard me over the music.

" Alright! Ima go find Aiden! " She replied, walking off.

I took a deep breath and walked toward Alexis. Kayden looked at me as I approached, smirked, then walked off.

" Hey! " I said, looking at Alexis. Her light blue dress, tight on the top flowy on the bottom, complemented all her features perfectly.

She spun to look at me. I dont know if I was being delulusional or not, but I swear her gaze flickered down to my lips.

" Kylie! You look so good! "
