In the chill of night,
Old wrongs made right,
Bonds grow warm and tight,
Apologies blend
With flavors shared,
Hearts and hopes,
Both were repaired.°°°
“Good Morning, sir! And here's your milk- I mean coffee!”
Evanna, wearing a light purple mini dress , placed the coffee mug on Alan's desk. Alan, from the corner of his eyes, eyed Evanna. For the past three days she had been wearing dresses with heels which were more appropriate for a party than an office.
Mentally noting, to take her out shopping to buy some appropriate office wearable clothes, Alan thanked her for the coffee.
“Also,”
She continued, placing a file beside the mug,
“I have personally analyzed the packaged sushi and wrote the pros and cons.”“Oh, did you?”
Alan asked, opening the file and wondering why she had done Conner's task. As he flipped through the pages, he was surprised to find a comprehensive report.“Three hundred pages?”
He exclaimed, continuing to flip through the seemingly endless document.“Yes, I tried to make the report as detailed as possible.”
Evanna replied proudly.“Ah, I see.”
Alan said, trying to hide his discomfort.
“By the way, why did you highlight these lines?”“Those are the most important pieces of information.”
Evanna said, her pride evident. She had put extra effort into underlining the lines.“All of these are important?”
Alan gulped as he realized almost every other line was highlighted in different colors.Evanna nodded, unaware that the file contained everything Alan disliked in a formal report. Still, he smiled and replied,
“I’ll take my time to read through this.”“Alright!”
Evanna beamed, proud of her work.“I’ll be stepping out for a couple of hours with Jake.”
Alan informed her.
“Please receive the calls and note down any information that might be important for me.”
Evanna nodded and left his cabin, leaving Alan to contemplate the colorful, exhaustive report.•••
Evanna was busy working on her PC when she received an email from the security team. She clicked the open button, and her screen abruptly went black.
“Oh, what is this? What’s going on?”
She exclaimed, trying unsuccessfully to restart her computer.Conner, hearing her distress, hurried over.
“Oh god!”
He said, eyes wide with panic.
“This is ransomware.”“What?!”
Evanna’s heart raced as Betty and Ben rushed over, drawn by the commotion.“Did you open a phishing email?”
Conner asked urgently.“No, it was from the company.”
Evanna replied, her voice shaky with worry.“Don’t you know they disguise themselves like this?”
Betty asked, scrutinizing the dark screen.“I heard RM Food Enterprise was a victim as well.”
Ben added. Betty nodded in agreement.“I heard that too. All their computers were shut down.”
She said.“How could you not know something so basic?!”
Conner frowned at Evanna, frustration evident in his tone.“I thought it was from the company.” Evanna stammered, feeling overwhelmed.
