As the building's entry doors slid aside, the trickling of rain downpour atop the umbrella you carried. A few expected droplets of water kissed your cheekbones, welcoming fresh air to any who hadn't diverted it's trail of descent.

The evening's clouds had begun to insinuate the day's departure, considering they had seemed to hide the tinted sky of darkness.

Satchel secured and wrapped around your torso, many companies would've been excusing their employees for the ends of their shift. Schools would release children of education in due time, a sign the asphalt roads would soon be occupied with large sums of cars & tired, weary citizens.

Most of which; would have taken a train for transportation, hence why you'd pick up your pace. The crowds of this particular area of Tokyo were excessive; having only been avoided due to your former working hours.

In fear of loosing more than just a device of communication, you'd had resorted to rerouting your voyage to public roads. Having said that, you had steered clear of alleys & narrow archways reluctantly.

Even after over a month, you still had been shaken up.

Once you'd invest in a replacement of your cellphone, you knew exactly what'd your first course of action would be. 1. Investing in a goddamn taser.

This pride of independence wasn't worth it, even a deliberate police report hadn't accomplished anything. The description of the man was vauge, nor did you somehow gain a name.

'Yes, officer. A man in all black had followed me after I had willingly walked down a dark, desolate alleyway after dark!'

'A name, you say? No, I hadn't gotten his name or witness. It was so unexpected!'

Each and every licensed officer in the station that morning you filed a report would've, obnoxiously so, glared at you as if you were an idiot.

So, naturally, you refrained from doing so.

Dammit, you were stupid! Even that bastard whom horrified you that very night thought so, what did you think would happen?!

Determination enhanced your pace, quickening your footsteps. If you had wanted to escape the crowds or the embarrassment, you weren't sure..

During your high-school years, you had taken up a detailed technical skills course as extracurricular. It'd been a tolerable option to both pass time and graduate sooner than expected, given your cruel experience as a student's education.

It would have proved useful for once, if it hadn't been that the incel who'd had abducted your phone also hadn't practically reduced it to a dustpan's most beloved snack.

With the SIM card gone & unsalvageable, the road to tracking whoever that had been was about as fleeting as your job.

God, you were so stupid! Maybe you shouldn't of graduated earlier than most, given how the education you had obtained could've been considered useless!

Given the luck you so graciously had, a gust of wind, bitter and abrupt had blew past and disrupted your departure. The umbrella relented, folding in on itself as it tried to join the weather's brutal attempt of ruining what little dignity you had left.

Turning your heel as to gain even an ounce of self-absorbed respect, you willed what little strength you held as to submit the umbrella into submission.
