Chapter 1

I shield my eyes from the rising sun and pull down the blind. I sit up and look at the clock 5:00am "oh great" i say pulling the sheets over my head. my least favourite thing in life was getting up early.

I sigh and sit up, I stand and put on my fluffy slippers.

Slowly I begin walking out of my room dragging my feet as I walk.

"aaaa" I let out a yawn as I enter our kitchen. I walk over to the toaster and put in a slicde of bread.

I look up and see my mother sitting in the next room.

She's looking at nothing in particular just staring into space.

I suddenly become aware of something.

"I set my alarm for 5:00am.." I think to myself. I look to my left at the wall and see the date - 30th march Saturday.

"Why did I set my alarm so early on a Saturday??"

"BING" my toast pops up.

I butter it and put on some vegemite then walk back to my room.

I finish my toast and walk into the bathroom.

I wet my face and look at my reflection

"Mirror mirror on the wall who's the stupidest of them all?"

"You are for setting your alarm so early Kate!!!" 

I reply to myself.

I undress and turn on the water to my shower. 

Just

"Shiiiiit" I say as I step in.

"Why is it always so cold?!" I think to myself.

After a few minutes of singing of key and washing my hair I turn the water off and step out of the shower.

I grab a towel dry off and then grab some fresh clothes and get dressed.

After I'm don't I go downstairs to find my mum still in the same position, but as I walk farther into the room I see she has the tv on and is watching our old home videos.

"Kate! Look at the camera honey!"

The video tape said.

"Rebecca show mummy your cartwheel!" My dad had left us when my mum was pregnant and when my sister Rebecca was three.

I sit down on the couch and watch the video, smiling at the memories.

Suddenly my mother bursts into tears next to me.

"Mum?!" I say alarmed

She cries into my shoulder

"My Rebecca, she was mine! Rebecca was my baby!" She sobs

A dark crumbling feeling hits me.

"Mum?! What are you talking about?"

"Shes... She's gone!! My baby's gone!" 

She cries harder.

I jump off the couch " NO! NO MUM YOUR WRONG!REBECCA!" I scream at the top of my lungs

"REBECCA!" 

I yell as I run up the stairs, I stop outside her room.

Ai turn the nob just as I yell "REBEC-!"

Empty.

Nothing.

Nothing but boxes with possessions of Rebecca's in them. 

I stumble back into the door.

"No- what?- how- NO!"

The last few days suddenly hit me.

*flash back*

"IM SEXY AMD I KNOW IT!!"

Me AMD Rebecca sing along at the top of our lungs to the car radio.

I burst into luaghter.

"Rebeccca!" I whined.

"Shut up I'm trying to drive!!" She screeched when I screeched the song in her ear.

"Ooh sorry miss big 18 year old!" I say sarcastically

"Oh don't worry your forgiven miss annoying 16 year old" she said while smiling sweetly. Yet evilieeeey

"Hmff" I huff out as I turn down the radio station a bit.

"Just cause you got your license doesn't mean suddenly your all grown up and mature" I say huffily.

She snorts. "Jealous much?"

A small smile creeps onto my face, she always got to the truth in the matter.

i turned toward her smiling, she mirrored my smile and shook her head back and forth

"Oh god Kate your smile is contagious!"

"Woah woah eyes on the road miss hot shot!" I teased.

"That's it" she said as she leaned over and tickled me.

"Stooooop! Stoooop! I surrender!" I said between fits of luaghter

She smiled smugly. "Alright out you get" she said as we arrived at the mall. "I'm gonna go park the car"

"Alright see you soon" I said as I waved.

I turned around smiling.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!" I heard Rebecca scream.

I twisted around as fast as I could, me and Rebecca's eyes locked time stood still and i started running towards her she just smiled at me. a tear slid down her face. "goodbye" she mouthed. then just like that a truck crashed into her car. Killing her.

*present time*

I was now weaping. I couldn't move. Pain swallowed me up. And my voice became caught in my throat.

I felt my self swaying, I grabbed onto her door handle for support.

"Rebecca.." I said quietly.

Then I fainted.
