chapter 4

"kateeeeeeeee!!!" a familier voice shreiked. "hi susan" i winced as she ran up and through herself in the seat next to mine. "where the hell have you been??" she yelled. I lowered my head as katy my always over enthuthisatic best friend stared at me waiting impatiently for my answer. i hadnt told her about rebccas death yet. i just;couldnt talk about it. "i...uh...ive been around." i said awkwardly.

she stared at me with a the hell kate?' expression on her face. "youve been around?" she said with hands on her hips. i nodded my head not willing to say anything more. "ORDER UP!" david yelled from the counter. i quickly skittered away from the table leaving kate there with an annyoed look on her face.

"thanks" i mumbled as i scoope dup the order. "no problem" he said as he did his 100 watt melt a girls heart smile. i surprised myslef by returning the smile whole heartingly. as i was about to turn around he grabbed my arm and yelled "WAIT!" i was surprised but turned back around with a surprised look on my face. he saw my surprise and blushed a light shade of red. 'awwww' i internally said. "i..uh.. was wondering what school you go too. i mean, i go to grove highschool and i havent seen you around before" "actually i do go main highschhool" i said plastering a fake smile on my face. of course he didnt know me, i was kate, kate the nobody. where as he was david probably the most popular guy ever in his school. "oh" was what he simply said. i turned to leave and made y way back to susan.

"ooooooh!!" she gushed. "who was the cutey??" "that was david" i said with no expression on face. she sat there and looked like she was about to rip out her own eyeballs. scary sight. "THE DAVID!? DAVID KINGSLEY! THE MOST POPULAR GUY IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!!!!!" by this point we were getting weird looks from a mother and little girl in the back. "ok susan, lets go outside shall we?" i siad in a singsong voice you would use for children.

i quickly pushed her out back and prayed that david hadnt heard her little out burst. as we exited the building susan began walking on her own "ohmygawd your so lucky" she breathed. something snapped inside of me. and i had the urge to slap her HARD across the face. ME LUCKY YEA HAVING REBECC DIE IS LUCKY?i held back a sob and i had to use ALOT of willpower not to kick her ass or claw her face. "im going home now" i said bluntly. "fine" she said. "im gonna go order some food" she said with a sparkle in her eye. go flirt with him see if i care, i thougth. i stormed away and started walking down the road back to my house. it was quite late now, about 10:00 and it was dark. the only light was the moon beaming down. i was very cought up in my thoughts when i heard a bottle smash. i whipped around to see an ally way and a drunk guy, about 20 with dark brown hair and large strong build. smashing a bottle against the wall. i tryed to back away slwoly so he didnt see me. 1 step back.... 2 steps... *crunch* his head whipped around to me, i had stepped on a glass bottle and smashed it. he started running towards me. i qiuckly turned and started running - but he was fast!!

he cuaght up to me in no time he grabbed both my arms and pinned me to the wall. "what do we have here?" he slurred i my face. i could smell the liqour on his breath and it was strong. i gulped and opened my mouth to yell for help "HEEL-" he quickly covered my mouth with his hand. he wiggle his finger in front of my face "no no no" he said tuanghtingly "we cant have people come and spoil our fun" i lowered my face and began to cry, two tears rolled down my cheeck. "no need to cry lovey" he purred "where going to have lots of fun" he said evily. i bit his finger. hard. he shot back in pain and cursed loudly. "HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPP!!!! SOMEBODY HELLLP!!!" I screamed loudly. he regained composure and striaghtended his back. "thats IT" he screeched. he pinned me to the wall and covered my mouth with his. it was disgusting. he tried to deepen the kiss but i bit tongue. "YOU LITTLE BITCH!" he screeched.

"thats it if you dont want fun i can bring pain" he smiled evily. oh no. he was going to hurt me, or maybe even kill me. he slid out a dagger from his back trousers and put the coold steel against my cheek. "where to begin" i was now sobbing and giving up. he raised the knife and i closed my eyes. 'goodbye' i thought. "HEY!" i heard a yell from down the front of the alley. "HEY YOU!" the stranger yelled. both our heads whipped around. "get out of here" the drunk man slurred. "i dont think i will" the strager replied coming closer. i could see his outline shadow now. the drunken man dropped me to the ground. i was weak now from being pinned up ad his strenght that had been grasping me. "get out of here!" he said wiggling the knife around.

"not unless you let the girl go" he stepped in to the light and immediatly i recognosed him as david. i was surprised but thankful for him.  david came up to the drunk man and stopped a few feet away. "were going now" he said with confidence "dont try and stop us" the drunk man scoffed " you really think ill let you go" he laughed. he ponited the knife in my direction "she is my toy!" he yelled. david calmly walked over to me and picked me up bridal style. "wrap your arms around my neck" he instructwed. i did as i was told. "your not leaving!" the drunk man yelled. david simply walked over to the man put me down and punched him across the face, quite hard actually, there would definelty be a big bruise. i just sat there dumdfounded.

"thankyou so much" was all i could muster. his head whippeed around to me. i dont know why but i blushed. he smiled "your welcome" i tried to stand up but my legs simply couldnt carry me. he chuckled "here" he said as he picked my up bridle style again.

; "what were you doing here?" i asked. he looked up inot my eyes and i could feel me going red. "i just got off my shift and was walking home when i heard someone screaming for help" he said. "you were very brave" i said before i even though about it. he chuckled again and i blusjed a deeper red. "thanks" was his reply. when we got out of the alley he walked over to a banch and sat me down."now" he saia "where do you live?" "why are you a stalker or sometihng?" he threw his head back and luaghed while i realised what i said (i do this quite alo, saying things and not thinking it through) and blushed crimson. "actuallly" he said "i was going to walk you home" he smiled and i couldnt help returning it.

"ill lead the way" i said as he picked me up agsin and we continued walking. after 15 minutes of laughing and talking we arrived at my house. "well, here we are" i said. he carefully put me down and we walked to the door. i turned to face him. "thankyou again, for everythin" i said. "anytime" he said as he winked. "do you think" he said as he rubbed the back of his neck "do you think..i could grab you cell number" i beamed "sure" i replied happily, why was i so happy he asked for my cell number?!. we exchanged numbers. "well goodnight" i said "goodnight kate" he said as he leaned close to my face 'oh god! was he gonna kiss me!? what should i do!' he quickly placed a light kiss on my cheeck nd turned and walked down the pathway whisleing. i touched my cheeck lighly "he kissed me" i breathed.. just as i was about to turn around and go back inot the house i got a text. i pulled out my phone "goodnight gorgeous xx" it was from david.  i dont know what it was, but this boy did something to me.
