chapter 3

I walk down the side walk along the road. *drip* ''what the--?" I look up to see black clouds coming this way and a raindrop landing on my arm. "oh crap" I say as I start running. I start clumsily slipping and fall on my bum. just great. by now its pouring and I now have a giant brown stain in my bum. super.

. I look around to see a little fast food restruant called 'the food hut' I snort at the name. I consider staying out in the rain in stead of being seen in there. when it starts hailing.

I run across the parking lot and stop at the door. I look down at the mat. 'welcome friend'. oh god. I push the door open and shield my eyes from the light.

I open them again to see a basically deserted place and one boy teen behind the counter staring lazily into space.

just back away slowly. I tell myself as i turn around.

'can i help you?" i hear a teen vioce say. I was guessing it was the teen guy behind the counter.

oh shit. just pretend you didnt hear him. yeah, that works. oh who am i kiddig that never works! he's gonna see right through you.

"uh. are you alright" he looks me up and down and settles upon "maam" I realise he's standing right in front of me. what the-? when did he get there!?

"I- uh, you looked kinda...stunned, so I uh thought i should come and see if you were ok." oh wow. .this is great. i had been standing here looking like a mentally retarted potato.

"im fine" i say through gritted teeth. i could practically feel myself go beetroot red."oh uh..ok" the boy says. I look at him and am impressed, he's got dark brown hair, broad shoulders, and you couold practically see the six pack undesr his shirt. I also spy a name badge. his name is daivd.

"uh..." "oh!!" i say. duh. he was waiting for me to say something. i mentally slap myself. "could i please.." i freak out and look around me, my eyes land on the menu board. "uhh...order some food?' i stutter out. "sure" he says as he smiles. what a cute smile.

he turns around and walks behind the counter. i follow behind and stop at the counter. "could i plese get the chicken nuggets?" i say, becuase thats the first thing that came to mind.

"sure thats a 3 minte wait and $2.50' I fish around my pockets and pull out some change then put it on the counter. he go's around back and i sit down at one of the tables. oh god, could this get any worse? i think to myself as i let my head flop down on the table.

when suddenly i hear the jingle of the bells on the door, someone is walking in but i dont bother ot lift my head. "kate!?" i heart someone very familiar yell. oh dear.
