"Ok. Looks like were first ones in. Electronics warehouse. Five, six active shooters, weve got two of ours inside, one wounded. Hondo, you got point."  Buck our current leader states.
  Hondo nods.
  " Minute out!" - Luca
  The team makes final preparations. BUCK-  "Ok. Fill the gaps, be liquid. Buck looks to Hondo who has his eyes closed. You sleeping Hondo?"  
  "Just visualizing.". I said fill -  "the gaps, be liquid.  Hard to forget it when you say it every time, Buck." Hondo open his eyes, shares a smile with Buck. Theres a real mentor/mentee bond here well get into much more later.  
  Here we go.
      That was the beginning of the end. The mission fell apart afterwards. Long story short, 4 people escaped causing Buck, Hondo, Chris, and I to chase them. Hondo and Chris were quick to catch two of them. The guy I was chasing decided to put up a fight. Which left me to use my knowledge of combat to knock this idiot out. He got lucky those first few hits and gave me some bruises.
   Hicks and Jessica are going to have field day with that. Anyways Bucks guy didn't get so lucky. He fired blindly which resulted in the shooting of Raymont Harris. A young black kid that lives on the Westside of town.
   We managed to get him to the hospital thankfully. But the news was out about our failed mission.
   We made our way back to HQ for debriefing. This is about to be hell . My sister Jessica was head over all swat teams. 30 David is the dream squad. We're the best of the best. Not to brag. But after this the face of 30 David was going to change.
   I'm currently the youngest member of 30 David. Then you have Chris Alonso my female BFF. Then you have Victor Tan. He's the most handsome man ever and I've been crushing on him since both made 30 David. He's my male best friend.
   Next oldest is Luca a 3rd generation swat officer. He practically grew up here. He's the best driver in the city. Plus he's basically my big brother. Then you have Deacon. He's second in command and a damn good man. He's like a second dad to me. Deacon is our saving grace. Finally you have Hondo. He's an ex marine and is also second in command. Now some of all are going to ask about my relationship with Buck because I didn't speak highly of him.
   Buck is okay. He's a decent leader. But he picks favorites. He doesn't like that I was put on 30 David.
  Being the youngest swat officer ever there's a lot of people who want to question why I didn't put my degrees to use. Being a mini genius gave me opportunities I use to dream of but after my parents were murdered at a young age I've always had the need to be a swat officer. The multiple degrees are just a flex.
   Anyways as we walked into HQ I took off my equipment.
"How's the bruises Nyla? Want me to come with you to the infirmary?" Tan asked. My heart fluttered.
  "Ummm. The bruises hurt a bit but compared to the knockout I gave that guy it's nothing. You came come with me after we get this debrief done because I'm pretty sure Hicks and Jess are going to smother me to death."
  The team laughed. Deacon pulled into a hug.
  "Haha yeah. You guys remember when Nyla and Rocker were doing training and he accidentally tripped over her?" Deacon asked while laughing.
   "Yea Hicks completely forgot about the rookies and ran to check on her. Then he bought her Starbucks to make her feel better while Rocker on the other had to clean for hurt princess here." Luca laughed.
   "It's not my fault I'm so short you giants took all the height." I pouted.
   Tan hugged me from behind and rested his head on mine.
"I like your height Nyla. You're perfect." He said.
I blushed
  "Thanks beastie. Now can we please get this debrief done. I need to get checked and I want food." 

The team and I walked into the meeting area where Jessica and Hicks were waiting for us. I didn't try to hide my bruises. Mumford and his team stood on one side of the table.

"Alright now that everyone is here, lets go over what went wrong. 30 David started off with tight formations while entering the house. They managed to find the targets and alert them of their presence. Does anyone want to tell me what happened after that?" Hicks said.

Deacon explained his part. "Well sir, Buck sent Luca, Tan and I to arrest the people inside the home. We had 4 out 7 people who ran. The rest of the team got the rabbits. I'll let Nyla explain the rest."

"Buck, Hondo, Chris and I were assigned to the rabbits. Hondo and Chris took two of them down easily. The guy i was after decided to put up a fight so after going back and forth I knock his ass out with a judo kick. That's where the bruises come from. Now as for buck his suspect is still out there. Buck made the mistake of shooting blindly in the dark which resulted in the shooting of Raymont Harris."

"I'll deal with Buck later. As for right now Deacon is charge of 30 David. Nyla as second in command since she is technically a sergeant and 3rd ranking. Mumford and 50 David will take over finding that last suspect. Nyla stay back. You're going to let me look at these bruises. Along with seeing what the nurse says." Hicks said.

"I'm fine. I just wanna get food and take nap."

I was ignored. Jessica, Hicks, and Tan walked me to the infirmary. The nurse gave me a clean bill of health. As soon as I got done with that I dragged Tan to my jeep and drove to chipotle.

"Chipotle again? Nyls you gotta get over this obsession. It's always Chipotle, sushi, or pizza and wings. Don't you get tired of them?"

"No and hop off my case chipotle is amazing. Plus I'm buying food for you and the team, plus Hicks, Jessica, Mumford and Rocker."

"You know everyone is just going to send you money for it even though you tell us not to."

"Victor you're my best friend. Along with Chris. I enjoy making sure my favorite people eat. Plus we spend the most time together. Food brings me happiness so why not share me happiness with the people I love and care about."

"Awww you love."

"More than you'll know." Which is true. I've had feelings for Tan since our training days together. But we work together and I don't want to complicate things. Someday I'll tell him.
