"Are you sure about this, Misty?"
"Yes, Candi, I'm sure, now hurry up!"
Just my luck, Candi thought bitterly, I'm left alone with Misty for an hour and she decides to sneak into the most heavily guarded part of the camp.
"If you go in there, they'll catch you." She said. The redcoats knew all about Misty's mischievous tendencies."
"Who said I'd be the one going in?" Misty replied with a smirk.
"How do I get myself into these situations?"
Candi approached the sign that read PLAYXPERIENCE. It hadn't opened yet, but Misty had insisted on getting one of the new VR headsets for herself.
"I can't believe I'm doing this..." She muttered as she stepped inside. The VR area was tucked away in the far corner, with the headsets neatly arranged on a nearby table. She had just walked over to grab one when the lights turned off and she crashed into something. She could hear a thud as it hit the floor. She turned to see Misty standing next to the breaker. Misty shot Candi that annoying smirk, then ran off.
"That's not funny!" Candi yelled, her instincts kicking into overdrive. She was about to run after her when a voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Oh goodie, another new toy to play with..."
"Who's there?!" She yelled, not caring if the redcoats caught her anymore. She wanted nothing more than to leave this creepy place and give Misty a piece of her mind. She'd been on a pranking streak lately, but this was her worst one yet.
"You really shouldn't scream so loudly. Someone might hear you."
"That's the point!" She felt the blood rushing through her veins. She couldn't see anything, and wouldn't know what was hunting her until it was too late.
No! I can't just stand here and wait to be killed!
She got to her feet and headed back the direction she'd came. Upon finding the breaker, she flipped it and the lights came back on, but she wasn't done yet.
"MISTY!"
"There's a monster in PLAYXPERIENCE!"
"Okay, now you're just being ridiculous."
Misty was honestly surprised her prank had went off so well. She'd expected Candi to be a little freaked out, but screaming about a monster... this was even better than she'd expected!
"Alright, scaredy-cat, show me this 'monster'."
The two girls entered the building. Misty was just about to go over to the front desk when the voice spoke again.
"Welcome to Hell Hotel. Come for a night, stay forever!"
Candi screamed again. God that was getting annoying. The voice seemed too quiet to be from a person, and the lines it spoke seemed oddly familiar.
"I'm sure I've heard that before..." Misty said, stepping closer while Candi watched from the safety of the desk.
"Seriously, Candi? This is what you were afraid of?"
Misty held up a VR headset, still spouting lines from the horror game Hell Hotel.
"In my defence, I couldn't see after you turned the lights off." Candi snapped back.
"I thought you'd find it funny."
"FUNNY?!" Candi snapped, "You know I'm scared of the dark!"
"You know what? After that prank, you can forget about the headset. I'm going home."
Candi turned and walked away. Dude would be hearing about this.
