Yuki’s POV

I watched the news and got everyone to the basement, even our cat. I ran down to the basement and looked at everyone. I realized we didn’t have Mira. “MIRA IS UP THERE!” I ran upstairs to get Mira. I grabbed her from her highchair and ran to the basement. I sat down in the basement crying. This was the first time Ren had seen me start to cry. I held Mira close to me and hugged her.

“W-what's happening? Is this bad? Are we gonna die!?” Ren seemed to be getting scared.

“I-I-I-Its fine Ren it will be fine,” I stopped crying and dried my eyes. I gave Mira to my mother and sat back down where I was. I took a few deep breaths to calm down.

A few hours later the tornado had gone away. Luckily our house wasn’t damaged at all. I was tired and everyone was too scared to be mad at my brother.

“Is it gone…?” Ren asked cautiously.

“Yeah it's gone,” I said in a calm voice. “Ruki lets get you to bed okay,” I said as I looked at Ruki.

“W-what w-was that…?” Ren asked while shaking really hard.

“I am going to put Ruki to bed and it's getting late,” I said in a calm voice.

“O-o-o-okay,” Ren said while shaking. I grabbed Ruki’s hand and walked to his room with him.

“Get in your bed Ruki,” I said in a calm voice. Ruki got into his bed and laid down. I started to walk and leave but Ruki started to talk. “Yuki,” He said, hoping I would turn around and talk to him.

“Yes Ruki?” I turned around when he said my name.

“Is the tornado going to come back?” He asked, a little scared.

“No it's not going to come back, it's gone,” I said trying to make him feel better.

“Oh okay,” he smiled “goodnight Yuki,” he said less worried.

“Goodnight Ruki,” I said as I walked out of his room. I walked back downstairs and saw Ren.

“Are you going to be okay Ren?” I asked him kind of worried.

“W-what if they come to find us!? What will we do!?!” he cried. He was clearly under a lot of stress. “I don't wanna go!! Not ever!”

“Hey hey calm down it will be okay,” I said and hugged him to try and calm him down.

“I-im s-sorry, I'm sorry! I can't go back! Never! She’ll slap me again!” he continued to cry, tears streaming down his face.

“Ren, look at me,” I said to him in a calming voice. He looked at me. “It's going to be okay, you don’t have to go back if you don’t want to,” I told him to try and calm him down.

“S-she’ll find me, no matter where i go, no matter what i do.” he gasped.

“Ren, please calm down okay you don't have to go back to whoever is hurting you,” I said trying to make him calm down. He hugged me tightly

“Thank you.” he replied, still a little upset but a little calmer.

“Its going to be okay,” I said trying to calm him down more.

“Im tired.” he commented, probably half asleep and not thinking straight.

“Okay then lets go,” I stopped hugging him and started to walk to my room. Ren followed behind me. I grabbed a pillow and blanket of my bed for Ren.

“Ren, are you sure you want to sleep on the floor?” I asked him wondering if he changed his mind.

“Im perfectly fine.” he said with a yawn. “I've slept on the floor my whole life.” he finished. He collapsed on the floor. “Ow…”

“Are you okay?” I asked him.

“I'm so great. I'm just gonna… lay down” he said, laying on the floor and immediately falling asleep.

“Well okay just try and get some sleep okay?” I said to him, I was only answered by his soft snores.

A few hours later I got out of my bed when I saw Ren was still asleep and walked out of my room and outside of the house. I started to walk around outside. I caught a glimpse of something running off and chased it but lost it as soon as it turned a corner. I started to walk around but didn’t see the creature at all.

I started to walk back to my house, unlocked the door and walked inside. I walked to my room and sat down on my bed. I hid my pocket knife and butterfly knife under my pillow. Just in case if I did try to put them in the box it wouldn’t wake Ren up. So I decided not to put them in the box tonight. I looked at Ren to see if he was asleep, he was shivering slightly in his sleep. I decided to just go back to bed.

The next morning my alarm on my phone went off and I woke and turned my alarm off. I looked on the ground to see if Ren was still there. He was still asleep.

“Ren,” I said, trying to wake him up.

“Wha- AH!” he yelped, immediately awake. “I'm awake!”

“Okay get up then,” I said as I got out of my bed.

“Oh, ok!” He stands up and looks around. “I think I fell asleep in my clothes.” he added, looking down at his shirt.

“I am going to go down stairs,” I said as I walked down stairs.

“Ok!” Ren responded. I walked down stairs and made myself a bowl of cereal. I finished my food and then put my bowl in the sink. I was ready for school.

“Ren, we have to leave,” I said from downstairs.

“Ok!” he said as he followed me out the house. I walked out of the house with him.

“So Ren we have to take the bus if that’s okay,” I told him.

“A… bus? Is it that yellow thing that I see at school?”

“Yeah,” I told him.

“Ok! Let's go!” he exclaimed. I walked with Ren to the bus stop. We waited for the bus then got on it and sat in a seat with Ren because he was the only one I knew on the bus. We got to school and I started to walk to class with Ren. Ren looked at me and started to say something.

“Hey, uhm, Yuki? Can uhm… can you… I mean… c-can…” he stuttered clearly nervous. “Nevermind , bye!” he yelped and ran off to class.

“REN WAIT!” I called after him as I followed him to our class.
