Chapter Two

I twist and turn in bed. This feels way too comfortable. I really don't want to get up yet, but if I don't, father will get mad again.
At the thought of him getting mad at me, I shoot up in my bed, quickly opening my eyes. Wait a minute, this - this isn't my room?
I find myself in a massive room, way bigger than my 'room' at home. The bed is a queen-sized bed, which very comfortable blankets and a lot of pillows on it. I see 2 doors and a massive closet. Where am I? How did I get here?

Memories of yesterday come back to me. I was healing Brennan, using my powers because he was wounded very badly. Leading to me overusing my powers, passing out.
Did those guys bring me here? Does that mean they kidnapped me?! So many questions are flooding my brain, questions I don't have time for. I have to get home as soon as possible! And I should probably pick up beer on the way. Father might go easier on me if I do. I'm not foolish enough to think he'll let it slide, but hopefully enough that he won't kill me.

I quietly get up from the bed. I'm still in my work clothes from yesterday. Good, no one changed me. I don't know how many bruises I still have under my clothes, and i really don't need people to worry about me.
I silently walk over to the door across from the bed. I open the door, making the least amount of noise I can. There is a bathroom here, so it must be the door on my right instead.
With my left ear against the door, I carefully listen if anyone else is awake yet. When I don't hear anything, I open the door. Poking my head into the hallway. It seems to be a rather large building. The halls are massive and luxurious. I should still be able to find the front door or any other door that leads outside.

A trait of mine is being rather clumsy, but as long as I'm a bit more cautious than usual, I should be able to make it outside without making any noise.
I choose to go left, as it appears to have an open area at the end.
I was right. It led me to a massive stairway, going down into a large open area and a door that looks like a front door.
I make sure no one is watching me before making my way down the stairs and to the door.
I grip the handle, ready to open it.

"Where do you think you're going?" A hand appears above me, keeping the door closed.

My eyes widen, and I turn around in shock. Dorian, the dark-haired male, is standing right there. Now that I get a closer look, he's quite handsome, especially with that tattoo on his right arm. It looks like shadows spreading themselves around, its quite odd but intriguing.
Stop admiring him! He kidnapped you idiot! How did he even get here? I didn't hear him at all!
Upon noticing I didn't try to leave, he takes his hand from the door and crosses his arms. Giving me a stern look as I still haven't answered his question. Because i was too busy with his appearance.

"Where were you planning to go, Clara?"
He can't be serious, right? He has to be joking right now!
"Where am I going?! Are you insane? You kidnapped me!"
He pinches his nose in annoyance and shakes his head a little. You have to be kidding me. HE is the one annoyed?!
"We didn't kidnap you. We brought you here because you passed out. We couldn't have left you there alone, nor could we have stayed."

I open my mouth to protest, but he's right. Even though it pains me to admit it, he has a good point. It actually is rather thoughtful on their part. Wait, what does he mean-- "Why wouldn't you guys be able to stay?"
He takes a few seconds to answer, almost like he's considering his words carefully. "We weren't sure if we would be allowed to be there. Now follow me, we're going to eat breakfast."
Breakfast? What time even is it?!
I grab my phone. It's already past 9AM! I'm in big trouble. I can only imagine what my father will do to me for this.
"That is very kind, and I appreciate it all, but I really have to get going now. Thank you for taking care of me!"

I open the front door and walk out, but before I make it two steps, my hand is grabbed. Not painfully, but he's holding on with a strong grip. "Let me give you a ride, at least." Without thinking I start answering, "that'd be gre--" Showing up with a guy, after spending the night at someone elses place? Yea, no, my father will damn near kill me for that. "Uh, no, thank you! I'll get going now! Bye Dorian!"
He eyes me with curiosity. "Why not?" He really has to stop asking me questions- "You've done enough for me. See you around!" The second he let go of my hand, I walk out of there. I shouldn't get him mixed into my mess.
