I firstly wanted to say, thank you for deciding to read this story. If you're a new reader, then welcome! I'm so happy to have you and hope you decide to stick around. I felt that it was needed to add an official warning before we start, to make sure that everyone understands that the themes discussed in this story can be triggering for some. This is just a reminder to always remain kind to yourself and put your wellbeing first (and I'll make sure to have a warning posted at the top of each of the more difficult chapters). Certain themes and the way some of the characters express their opinions about them may seem outdated, and I want everyone to remember that this in NO WAY reflects my feelings and opinions. All things discussed by the characters are written to reflect the time that they are in, which is the 1970's. We have come a long way since then (although we still have a long way to go), and I want all my readers to know that I support and believe in rights for EVERYONE no matter how they identify or who they love. There are also some depictions of psychical abuse, if this is hard for you to read, then keep an eye out for that specific pre-chapter warning.
While writing this story, I was very heavily influenced by the music that I was listening to at the time (this entire plot was actually inspired by one song in particular). Although I use music, and sometimes other things such as imagery or poetry, to help inspire my writing; this is the first time I felt as if the songs almost need to be included in the story for the full experience. I've decided to add a few of them here or there (not sure every single chapter will have a song), but if you see them pop up, feel free to give them a listen!
I'm so happy to have you all here, and eternally grateful that you interact with my writing. Writing has always been something I do for myself, but seeing that some of you truly enjoy reading it makes it so much better.
