Stupid Test!

NATSU POV

     Hi... my name is Natsu. I guess you already know that because of the description or something. I shouldn't have EVER taken that test because now I'm stuck in a place where I don't even know anybody, and that's never happened before! You probably don't know what I'm talking about huh, well...

F l a s h b a c k

     "So, what's this stupid test about anyway" I say, leaning on my chair to the point where it would probably fall. "This test is not stupid!" Ms. Berry says. We're not on the best terms, considering I always disrupt her class. "This is an opportunity for you to be able to get a better future, I'm sure you'll pass!" she says with a sarcastic tone at the end.

    Whatever, she probably doesn't even believe in me! Well guess what? I'm gonna prove her wrong! I can't wait to see the look on her face when I pass the test! I actually am smart, but it's soooooo hard to put in effort! So I just stopped at one point. 

*after the test*

    That was too easy. Welp, back to relaxing! I instantly go to sleep to pass time by.

*time skip to the next day*

     As soon as school starts, I hear the announcement saying, "Natsu Dragneel, please come to the office!" Darn it... what did I do this time?

     I step inside the office and see Ms. Berry, the principal, and... MY DAD??? "Uhmmm, what the hell is going on here, I swear I haven't caused trouble recently!" I yell, maybe I shouldn't have yelled, but oh well. The principal speaks up, "No it's not that Natsu. Actually, it's really good news!" My dad, Igneel, Interrupts, "NATSU MY BOY I AM SO PROUD OF YOU," I thought I almost saw a tear forming in his eyes.

     This is so weird, what's happening? "ahem, as I was saying. Natsu, you did so well on the test, best in the country even, that you got a scholar ship including a paid dorm! Unfortunately, the plane ticket there is not included and will cost some money..." Everyone got a little quiet as the principal said that. "How much exactly?" Igneel asks.

     "About 250 dollars." "Oh, that's not that bad!" Igneel says, but I know that's far from the truth... I whisper to my dad, "Can we talk privately please" "Sure."

     We go outside the office and start discussing, "Igneel, you know if you do it, you won't be able to take care of yourself!? The farm isn't getting enough money, and you know it!", "I know, but, your future is more important, okay? I don't care what happens to me! Go to school, get a good job, and live the life you deserve! I'm sorry for not being able to provide enough for you Natsu, I'm a bad dad."

     "Igneel, don't say that!-" I cut myself off, I realized my dad was crying in front of me for the first time ever. He starts speaking in a distressed kind of voice, "The only way I can make it up to you, is by sending you to that school whether you like it or not.", "Dad, I-" I get cut off. " Please Natsu! Just let me do this for you!" 

     We stay in silence for some time, and I nod. I have mixed feelings about this. I just hope my dad is okay while I'm gone.
