The Panic

Backstory:

When Lucy was a child and didn't do as she was told she was often grabbed by the wrists and pinned down by any adult who looked after. This resulted in Lucy flinching whenever someone grabbed her arms, wrists or legs, throughout police academy she got a lot better and it didn't startle her as much.

Present Day

Lucys pov:

Me and Chris hadn't had much time together recently as he was working a lot. He was getting me undressed and I was only in my bra and underwear. Then he grabbed my wrists and pinned me to the wall, I started panicking and I could feel my chest tightening. I begged Chris to let go of me and he didn't, I could feel the panic attack coming as he got closer to me. I pushed him off of me, grabbed a blanket and just ran, I didn't care that I was only in my underwear, I just ran. I had no idea where I was going but eventually I ran to the police station.

Fd: hello, how can I help you?

L: hi..I..um...I just need to talk to Sgt Grey please.

Fd: oh um sure, let me get him for you.

L: thank you *trying to catch breath*

I sit down in the waiting room slightly embarrassed as I just realised what I was wearing and that everybody is going to see me in this. As the worker at the front desk went and got Grey, my panicking just got worse and I was hyperventilating. Tears were rolling down my face, i had red puffy eyes already from crying, my hand was on my heart trying to calm my breathing.

G: Hello how can I help you?

I look up and see Grey *shit*.

L: i...i...ii...uhm...i...can't breathe

G: Hey, hey, its okay. Bradford, Lopez, can you go get this lady a water?

T&A: Yes sir

G: Hey, can you stand up for me and ill take you to my secret room attached to my office?

I stood up and slowly walked to Greys office with him helping me, I don't think he recognized me as I had no makeup on and looked ridiculous. As we sat down in his office I still couldn't breathe and was sobbing. I had no clothes on, I was shaking from the cold as the blanket wasn't very warm. Grey tried calming me down as two other officers walked in the office with water, I didn't register there was anyone there at first until Grey passed me the water they'd brought in.

T: Sir I've got a spare t-shirt and hoodie in my locker, should I get it?

G: Good idea Bradford. Lopez, do you have any trousers spare? If you do, do you mind if this Lady uses them?

A: Yes I've got some, I'll go fetch them.

The two officer walked out as Grey passed me the water bottle. They soon came back in and passed me the clothes, I just couldn't get dressed, I was so tired.

L: i..um..i'm really tired, i don't have the energy to do it

G: It's okay, uhm, do you mind if Detective Lopez helps you? Me and Officer Bradford can go out the room.

I haven't even looked up, I'm still sobbing and freezing cold. I just nod. Grey and the other officer walk out and the detective helps me stand up, I'm too tired so I fall into her. She helps me put the t-shirt and trousers on.

A: Detective Lopez, you can call me Angela for now :)

L: uh thanks?

A: are you okay for Officer Bradford and Grey to come back in?

L:yeah..uhm sure.

A: Grey, Bradford you can come in.

Grey and Officer Bradford walk in and I sit back down, still crying and still cold but I didn't want to put the jumper on. Angela crouches down in front of me to hug me but I flinch and so she sits down opposite me.

G: can you look up for me?

L: if I look up, you'll...um..you'll know me

I tucked my legs up and tucked my head in my knees. The one sentence I didn't want to hear, if I look up at Grey he could fire me, or see me as weak etc, I couldn't do that.

G: are you some sort of criminal?

L: no, you'll just know who I am

I start breathing heavier again and Angela immediately recognized it was a panic attack crouched down in front of me

A: Hey, hey, just take some deep breaths

She put my hand on her chest so I could feel her heartbeat and how she was breathing.

A: can you copy my breathing for me?

A few minutes had passed and I was calming down slowly and managed to breathe again but still crying

A: So, what's your name?

L: Lucy.....Lucy Chen

Grey just gasped and Officer Bradford and Angela just gave him the 'what was that for look'. Grey immediately sat next to me as they stared at him.

G: I'm so sorry Lucy, come here.

Grey pulled me in for a hug, I felt safe in his arms. Grey held me for what felt like ages but it was probably 5 minutes. Grey still hadn't told Angela and Officer Bradford how I knew him or anything as that was personal till tomorrow. About half an hour later, Grey left to get some paper to write down what had happened and Angela went to get me a drink. Grey came back and started asking me what had happened.

G: Lucy, can you tell me what happened

L: oh...it was nothing...I just panicked and ran until I found the station

G:Luce I know your past, something had to have happened for you to get that scared and panicked to run to the station.

L: C....Chris

G: whose Chris?

L: my b..boyfriend

G: okay, what did he do?

L: he grabbed me....

G: grabbed you? where ?

Some flashbacks started of what happened when Grey said that, my eyes started to glaze over and my breathing picked up. Someone I didn't recognize touched me and I freaked out, I started kicking and screaming for them to get off.

L: GET OFF! GET OFF ME! GET OFF ME PLEASE!

T: Its Officer Tim Bradford, you're safe, breath in for 4 and out for 5.

Officer Bradford put my head on his chest to listen to his heartbeat, it calmed me down pretty quickly but I didn't have it in me to speak anymore so I just pointed to my wrists half asleep.

This story is my first story so please point out any mistakes! I take inspo from a lot of chenford writers on TT and here but I am NOT copying in any way!
