"Did you see all of my memories, your highness?" His face suddenly looked sad.
"No, just pieces of it. The important milestones in your life, yes," I replied.
"My parents. They're both part of the Dakila tribe in the lost city."
"The Dakila tribe? How did you learn about this? In your memories, you were adopted as a baby."
"My parents left me a necklace with a note inside that can only be activated by mana. They said, 'Come find us in the lost city when you're grown up and we'll tell you everything. We're sorry, but we wanted to give you a good life.'"
"Do you blame them for the hardships you faced growing up in the Rosas household?"
"Honestly, I don't. They wanted me to have a good life. As I grew up, I did my own research. The lost city isn't ideal for raising a family. For that, I am thankful. But part of me wishes I had lived in a dangerous place with a loving family, rather than in a place where I had food and shelter but was maltreated. This is why I don't feel empathy towards House Rosas, except for the residents and servants I hired from the slums."
I empathize deeply with him. Such experiences wouldn't be possible in the modern world. I debated whether to share what I discovered about his bloodline and powers because I wanted to avoid unnecessary complications. Unlike characters in novels or people in the old times who often hide things and create complicated situations, I prefer straightforward honesty to prevent misunderstandings and confusion.
"Isidoro, would you like to hear a story?"
"I would love to, your highness."
"Do you know the history of our empire?"
"Yes, your highness, I learned it from my history teacher."
"What do you think about the five original houses of the Varala Kingdom? Do you think they were traitors?"
"No, your highness. I believe everyone has their own side of the story. Without knowing the full truth, I can't judge the five original houses as traitors based solely on history."
"Then let me show you something."
Author's Note:
The mention of the five original houses can be found in Episode 12, "The Lost City - Lost Bloodlines," for reference. 😊
