Sophie sat alone in her room, her heart heavy with grief after her mother's passing. The weight of the loss seemed unbearable, and she found herself sinking deeper into sadness each day. Her brother Johnny, who always had a knack for lightening the mood, noticed her struggle and wanted to help.

One evening, Johnny came into Sophie's room with a mischievous smile on his face. "Hey, Soph," he said, trying to sound cheerful. "I have a surprise for you. Guess who I bumped into today? It was Gibbsie, your boyfriend!"

Sophie looked up, her eyes red from crying. "Johnny, you know Gibsie and I are taking it slow ," she replied, her voice filled with melancholy.

Johnny sat down next to her, his expression softening. "I know, Soph. But I thought maybe pretending that Gibsie is your boyfriend would bring a smile to your face, even just for a moment. Sometimes, a little bit of laughter can help heal a broken heart."

Sophie let out a small sigh, touched by her brother's gesture. "Thank you, Johnny. I appreciate you trying to cheer me up. It's just...it's hard to imagine being happy right now."

Johnny gently placed his hand on Sophie's shoulder. "I understand, sis. It's okay to feel sad and take your time to heal. Just remember, I'm here for you, and so are your friends like Gibbsie. We'll get through this together."

As Sophie looked into her brother's eyes, she felt a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. Even though the pain of losing her mother was still fresh, she knew she had a support system that would always be there for her.
