Colton Rodriguez was waiting to get in to his room and have a great sleep. His head was throbbing. His eyes were so close to close up. He was tired to death. When he came to the house he was living, his mood worsened, because he never wanted to live further in this haunted house. If it wasn't for Nathaniel's decision, he would have already fled the country. Giving a silly excuse as going abroad to study or something.
His whole family was scattered around, other than the workers who lived in the house, it was just Nathaniel, him and Jacob were the only people who lived at this mansion. While one was away in a boarding school, other one just didn't lived there. He moved out. And their sister, It was a thought that always complicated his mind whenever he thought about that. He doesn't even know that she is alive or not.
There was nobody to seen when he opened the front door of the house. Which felt weird, because even if there were only few people lived there, in their house the first floor was always reserved for their business stuff, so there would be people walking here and there always. Even if it is middle of the night.
When Colton got in the second he didn't even saw Gina. She was no where to be found. He left the thought aside for moment to get his rest. He was so tired to think anything at all. When he got to the third floor to get to his room, he saw Nathaniel standing in front of a room, he was outside, but was looking in to the room.
It took a little time, to Colton to realize what room he was looking in to. That room hadn't been opened for many years until then. Colton's feet got stuck when he saw Nathaniel was intensely looking at something that was in the room.
Colton knew even though Nathaniel didn't turn his head or didn't react to the sound of his footsteps, he clearly knew who was coming upstairs. He had that animal instincts to know what was going around him.
With clearing his mind, Colton walked towards is oldest brother to see what he was looking at. The room was dark. The door to the room was slightly opened and through the gap, a little streak of light fell in to the room. That streak of light fell on to the figure that was sleeping on the bed in the room.
Colton's breathing picked up when he saw who was sleeping on the bed. . Colton knew Nathaniel suddenly went somewhere for the past three days, he didn't tell anyone where he was going. Now it all made sense. Did Nathaniel knew where she was all this time? It was the first question that came in to his mind.
For the first time in years, his knees felt week that he thought he would collapse at the moment. He really wanted to go in to the room to see if it is really her. Like reading his mind, Nathaniel stepped aside to give space for him to go inside the room. While walking inside the room Colton spoke for the first time.
"Is that really Natasha?" He only but whispered it so only Nathaniel could hear it. He responded by nodding his head.
With a heavy heart, Colton kneeled beside her bed. She looked so grown up and at the same time, she was still small. Before she disappeared all those years ago, he was the last person who saw her at that night. He carried the burden of thinking that if he had been by her side for a little longer that night, this wouldn't have happened.
His eyes filled with tears. No matter how quickly he wiped the tears that kept falling from his eyes, it didn't stop. Colton tried so hard not to scream with the pain that was clearly trying to get out all those years. His hands gripped his own hair tightly trying to stop his crying. He was trying so hard not to wake her up. While her brother was crying beside her, she slept peacefully on the comfy bed.
Nathaniel didn't need to further see this scene so he left giving Colton his privacy.
It took Colton half an hour to regain his composure. When he stopped crying he was exhausted. Sitting on the floor beside her bed, he leaned his back on the bed. And leaning his head back, he fell asleep.
