•Ramen time•

_^-^_^-^_- Kanade's pov -^_^-^_^-^_

"Where the hell is my daughter?" said Mafuyu's mother, looking furious at me.

"He- She- I- Mafuyu isn't here right now," I say, almost outing Mafuyu on accident.

"Don't lie to me. I have a tracker on my phone and it says she's here." She replied, crossing her arms.

"Why would you put a tracker on your kid?!" I asked, eyes widening at what Mafuyu's mother had said.

"That's none of your business. Now, where is she." She replied, glaring at me.

"Mafuyu isn't here!" I say, then his mom barged into the house.

"What's all the commotion?.." Mafuyu asked, walking out of the room with a tired look on his face. That was when he spotted his mom.

"Oh, Mafuyu! What happened?! Did she kidnap you?!" His mom said, quickly rushing to him and hugging him. I could see the discomfort in his face.

"No, mother, I'm fine. I was just staying over." He answered, truthfully. I felt worried knowing his mom's reaction was probably not going to be good.

"What? But I thought I told you to ask me if you wanted to stay at a friend's house. Especially hers..." She said, saying the last part quietly. I could tell Mafuyu was getting defensive but kept his facade up.

"I just forgot to... sorry." He said, getting out of the hug. 

Mafuyu's mom had a slightly skeptical look but sighed, "Alright. Let's get you home, though." She said, before grabbing Mafuyu's arm and pretty much dragging him out of the house. I felt awful seeing him have to deal with her. Then, they were both gone.

I sighed, walking to my room and sitting at the computer. I wasn't in the mood for breakfast but instead began composing.

_^-^_^-^_- A few hours later -^_^-^_^-^_

I decided to take a break from composing after a while and got up to go make ramen. Then, I remembered I didn't have any. "Guess I gotta go out..." I mumbled, sighing a little but putting on my shoes and walking out of the door.

Eventually, I got to the store and went inside. I just wanted to get in and out, quickly. That was not going to happen when I bumped into a certain pastel pink-haired person. "Oh, hey Kanade!" Mizuki said, waving at me.

"Hi, Mizu..." I said, waving a little. They smiled at me.

"I wanted to ask you something." They said, raising an eyebrow. I nodded to let them know they could ask.

"Have you seen or talked to Mafuyu lately? Neither Ena nor I have spoken to him since the other day on call." They said, seemingly a little concerned.

"Oh... he messaged me yesterday and stayed at my house," I said, their face lighting up instantly.

"Ah, good to hear that he's okay!" Mizuki said, patting my head a bit. Then, they continued to talk to me while I got my ramen, wanting to give me company as they said. It wasn't awful... it was sort of nice to have someone there.

"Byee!!! Talk to you later!" They said as we both walked out of the store and went our separate ways. I got back home and got to making the ramen.

While I waited for the ramen, I hear a notification from Nightcord on my computer. I went and checked, it was a call from Mafuyu. I accepted. "Hi, Kanade." He said.

"Hey, Maf. Are you doing okay?.." I asked, a bit concerned. 

"Yeah, I'm okay. My mom asked me a few questions once we got home but she left me alone after." He asked. I had a little sight of relief.

I heard the microwave go off, "One second, I'm gonna get that." I say, taking off my headphones and preparing the ramen. Then, when I came back I heard two other voices.

"Hi K!" I hear Ena and Mizuki said into the call in unison.

"Oh, hi you two," I said, sitting down and eating my ramen slowly.

The call went on until around 3 am, then Ena and Mizuki left to sleep. However, I continued composing. "You should sleep, K." I hear Mafuyu say on the other end.

"I'll be fine, don't worry about me. You need sleep, too..." I say, continuing to compose. I did feel myself getting tired, though.

I heard him sigh on the other end, "Fine... but you better sleep too." He said, before ending the call. I never ended up going to sleep.
