The girl looked over to her bedside table; the clock read 4:30 AM. It was far too early to get ready for work, but there was no way she could fall back asleep now. She reluctantly swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up, her bare feet sinking into the soft carpet. She wandered to her window, pushing the curtains aside to look out at the calm sleepy street.

It had been three years since that night, but the memory still haunted her. Now more than ever, considering Steve now worked at the same very Scoops Ahoy that was across the mall from The Gap she worked in, and you would have thought that with the distance from the two stores during the busy and crowded days in the mall that the pair would never see each other but that was not the case as she still found herself running into him on her lunch break or during other times.

It was honestly ironic as when Steve had graduated at the end of the school year she thought that was it and she would never had to see his stupid face again but life had a funny way of screwing up her plans.

That night had almost ruined her image—hell, for a couple of months, no one could stop talking about it, and she was constantly harassed in the hallways by both guys and girls. But that was all over now. April had worked hard to get back on top, and from now on, it was going to stay that way and she was going to enjoy this summer.

For Steve, on the other hand, things had not been so easy since the party. April had sworn to make his life a living hell. No one was going to screw her over and get away with it—not even King Steve. She was not someone to be crossed, and unfortunately for Steve Harrington, he had made a powerful enemy.

Though it had taken a lot of determination and schemes to reclaim her place, April Evans had got what she wanted. She had arranged for one of her jock friends to beat up Steve—not once, but twice-that wasn't about her reputation; she simply wanted him to feel some of the pain she had endured mentally. But as for trying to get back on top, she spread countless rumour's about his dating life, his parents, even one about how his hair was a actually a wig. However, the most effective strategy was exposing the cruelty of his clique—Carol, Tommy, Tammie, Jessica, and Bryan.

The students of Hawkins High resonated with this idea as many of them had suffered at the hands of these bullies for years. April even organized a sort of unofficial boycott against the group, by getting three cliques to ignore them completely. This movement caught on quickly, and soon, everyone at school was on board. And with her efforts, April Evans was officially crowned the queen bee of the school once again.

Sitting by her window, April's gaze inadvertently drifted to the house next to her—the Harrington residence. "He deserved it," she murmured to herself, feeling a sting of guilt before shaking it off as she stood up, deciding to go start taking a shower.
