Destiny's Entwined

The morning comes and you wear your oil cloth cape you made, taking the cart horse pulling it and wolf running in front the sacks were placed on the cart going into the woods you find mushrooms and start to place them in the sacks.

Grabbing any fire wood and other edibles fruit, nuts and wild veg that's in season, stopping at the river you place a line in for some fish and look for the riverside plants, spending a few hours out you have a nice amount of mushrooms so you go home to dry them out.

Making a mushroom soup, you take some down and leave them at the shrine, bowing you go back home as you get to your path you stop and turn around frowning as you look to the gates and see movement, holding the handle on your sword.

Walking over you open the gates and see a man you didn't expect to ever see again blinking and frowning as you look at the men with him, he smiles "thank God we finally found you Shino" tilting your head "I didn't know you would be looking?" looking up you flinch "come in quickly and go up the mountain. No questions go now".

Seeing your state he gets on the horse and you point the way to go "quickly up the mountain path. Move" they go as quickly as possible, closing the main gates you run to the path "don't look back and go up" frowning they do as asked going into your yard you close the gates as the noise starts.

Slamming the gates closed "don't look down the mountain, go over to the cave" going over they get off the horses, they sort out feed for them as you make room in the cave for the horses and the cart "Shino, what was that?" looking at him you reply "I live in a mystical village. They come out at night, I know not to look or go out at night".

He flinched as you say "it's one of the most safest places to live" he nods inviting them into the house and popping some food on for them, you see a little girl and frown looking at them, sitting them down as horse and wolf come in, they lay in their normal place.

Placing the kettle on the fire and putting the tea set out for them, food cooking and making the rice "so what brings you here?" he looks at you and realised you look better than you had in years smiling he says "I wanted to see how you are. I also have some supplies and letters for you" he hands the letters over.

Taking the letters you smile, the little girl gets up and goes to your kitchen you frown and watch as you go to find out what their doing your pulled down to sit, glaring at the man he winced "she is a maid, she will sort the food" you frown deeply "why the hell did you bring a maid?" he sighs.

He goes to speak when you hear the noise from the village increase looking in the direction you snicker "they liked the mushrooms" he looks at you "so your happy here living this life?" smiling you nod "I get on really well with the locals as well. Oh do you have bedding?" the two soldiers go out and collect the bedding.

He holds your hand "Shino, you going to stay here forever?" thinking you smile and reply "yeah, I think I will" he looks at you and sighs "I don't stand a chance do I?" groaning "if you had come to me about a year ago I would of jumped at the chance. I do like you but this is my new life and you would not be happy here" sighing he nods.

The soldiers bring back the bedding you show them the spare rooms, the maid brings out the food all sitting around the table eating and drinking, you get the letters out and read them, having a laugh and a cry at what they wrote, finding some paper you write a reply to them both with a smile, done you ask "can you take these back for me please?".

He takes them and sighs but laughs, eating the food "I was thinking of retiring and moving here, but your right I wouldn't be happy here" you smile and pat his hand, wolf nuzzles in to your side as you pat him as well, watching you he says "yeah, you are great on the battlefield but this suits you aswell" you chuckle and finish the food.

The maid says "I started the bath, so if any of you want one it's ready?" you raise a brow as he winced "yeah, please have a bath" she wanders off as you say "your taking that back with you" smirking he nods "yeah, I thought she would help but I see the error of my thoughts" they go for a bath as you clean up, all cleaned up you send them to bed.

Getting in your futon and snuggling in, falling asleep quickly when wolf wakes you up with a loud growl, waking you see the maid stood there naked you huff and say "go back to bed, I am not interested in you at all. Oh and go back with them" rolling over you go back to sleep as the maid rushes off crying.

Waking up cuddled into wolf you get up and have a wash opening the doors and windows then letting the animals out of the cave, then watering the fields and the garden opening your gates you see a present hung on the gate shouting down "thank you" he comes out and they unload the cart you go through the materials and grin wide.

Saying "this is brilliant, thank you. I know it didn't go how you thought but your all welcome to come and visit but come in the day" he winced but nods.
