Melanie had to admit she was kinda starting to like this job. The adrenaline rush from all the cases was exactly what she missed, it was something she craved like a drug.
There has been two cases after the first one, but Moreno wasn't really in them. Hotch had ordered her to stay out of all the field work, she was basically stuck with Reid doing some boring profiling during every case. Hotch seemed worried because of the first case, but Melanie was doing okay. She just thought that it was unfair for Hotch to decide whether she was okay or not. Moreno wasn't even feeling any negative feelings because of the case but everyone just decided that she had to be. She was strong and it made her angry that the team thought that she was so vulnerable.

There was another case and everyone was talking about it on the jet. She stayed quiet because it didn't really matter whether she said anything if she was anyways going to be stuck at the station.
"Morgan and Prentiss go to the crime scene, JJ give a statement to the press, Rossi you are talking to the families with me and Moreno and Reid you two can start-" Hotch started to tell everyone their tasks but Melanie cut him off. "You know what, fuck you Hotchner" everyone looked shocked when those words left her mouth.
"I've done nothing but excellent work, i've tried to be a little bit nicer to you guys and still you don't let me on the field" Melanie said with anger filling her voice."You all are starting to forget that i'm a criminal, i've seen a lot worse than that first case" Moreno continued. "Hell i have even killed multiple people with my own two hands, i'm not weak and i don't need to get these boring tasks to be okay again!" Melanie was now yelling at Hotch. "People die and i really don't care so please put me on the goddam field again" she said before giving Hotch a pleading look.
"Reid and Melanie you two can start the geographical profile" Hotch said completely ignoring her outburst. She was angry, she would have left if they weren't quite literally 36 thousand feet above the ground. Actually if the doors would open Melanie would've probably still left, that's how angry she was. Everyone was silent, the situation was awkward for everyone but Moreno didn't really care about that. She knew she was an great agent and she definitely didn't deserve all this.
The awkward silence ended when Garcia called. "Hello my lovely cutie pies, i have some new information for you" Garcia's lovely voice echoed trough the jet. "So i've figured out the connection between the victims. They were all high class women with a long history of crime. They were all given a second chance instead of prison and were very successful after that" Garcia spoke.
"Wow it almost sounds like we have a perfect victim on this jet, only if they were an trained undercover agent. That would definitely make this case more faster and easier to solve" Melanie said sarcastically while glancing angrily at Hotch. Obviously Moreno was implying that this was an perfect opportunity to let her go undercover.
Hotch thanked Garcia for the information and after that she ended the call. "Hotch we can't just overlook the opportunity that we have here. It almost seems too perfect to be true" Melanie heard Rossi defend her. Morgan and Emily agreed with Rossi. After all that Hotch changed the plan.
"Fine, JJ you will be helping Moreno and Reid get the profile done and after that we'll have the press conference. Moreno and JJ will be talking about the unsub and after that we'll have someone asking Melanie about her past. Moreno you need to make it clear that you are ashamed of all the things you have done in the past. You need to tell the press that you were given a second chance and that's the reason why you are so successful now" Hotch explained to her. Melanie just nodded in response.
