chapter 7 - hello bestie

Melanie felt really foggy when she finally woke up. Everyone on the plane was asleep, it was a long flight after all. She knew that she wasn't high anymore, but oh boy was this weed hangover hitting her hard.
She remembered all the things she said and did and that alone made her feel like throwing up.

No, it wasn't the flashbacks, she was actually going to throw up. Moreno ran to the bathroom as fast as she could. The pain finally hit her, she wanted to cry. Melanie quite literally just ran into the toilet without her crutches and was now on her knees throwing up into the toilet, her thigh was aching from the pain.

She felt a comforting pair of hands on her shoulder. "Doctor, i said you need to stop randomly appearing out of nowhere" Moreno said before throwing up again while Reid held her hair.
"Sorry about that, i wanted to make sure you were okay" Spencer said.
"Oh yeah i'm feeling totally fine, it's not the first time i've smoked way too much" Melanie tried to jokingly reassure him.

She knew that he knew. Her spilling all her secrets and singing Kesha wasn't just a horrible nightmare. Reid didn't bring it up, but Melanie could tell that he was thinking about it. "I really am okay, you don't have to keep holding my hair" Moreno said while trying to get up from the ground. Her whole body was hurting more than before. Spencer helped her up while having this overwhelming worry in his eyes. Melanie washed her hands and drank some water to get the awful taste to go away.

Spencer didn't say anything, he just helped Melanie back to her seat. Couple of her teammates had woken up and obviously they were all pretending that the whole high Melanie thing didn't happen. She was really fucking grateful for that. "We are landing soon" Hotch said to the team when all of them were starting to wake up.

Melanie had been on the station since the landing, Hotch really was serious about the no physical work rule. Moreno was obviously more comfortable in the field but all this profiling had started to feel nice too. She didn't hate it anymore, it was actually starting to be kinda interesting and she felt like she was good at it.

During the day no one had mentioned anything about the plane ride and Melanie really was grateful for that. She knew that all of them were profiling her but the fact that they didn't make a big scene out of all this really meant so much to her. Melanie was also feeling better, no throwing up, no foggy feeling and less physical pain.

"Agent Moreno may i have a word with you" Hotch asked while entering the room.
"It's only Reid here, we can just talk here" Melanie responded. It wasn't like Reid didn't know what happened on the plane so it didn't really matter that he heard.
"Some people from your past criminal organization are involved in this case, we just found out. We would appreciate it if you would be willing to go to the San Quentin State Prison to talk to one of the old members" Hotch explained. Oh, this wasn't the thing she thought Hotch would talk about.
"Who is it?" Melanie bluntly asked.
"Jeremiah Castillo" Hotch answered and as soon as Moreno heard that name her face turned pale.

"Do you even know who he is, that man is like the devils advocate. He's the size of a fucking skyscraper, he could snap me in half" Melanie rambled.
"I know this isn't the easiest thing to do, but Reid and I will be there with you making sure nothing happens" Hotch reassured. Melanie looked at Reid with betrayal, why didn't he tell her about this. As soon as Reids confused look met Melanies eyes her look softened, he was as clueless as she was.
"Okay i'll do it, but i don't know how anything i say will help" Moreno said. Hotch left and gave her and Reid twenty minutes to get ready.
