A man breathes heavily whilst running through the forest. He climbs a cliff wall and sees a fishing boat in the distance. He looks over and there is younger boy beside him, they make eye contact and nod. They continue to run and jumps down to the ground below. They reach what seems to be there campsite; the man sets his bow and arrow and fires a flaming arrow into a pile of sticks creating an explosion and alerting the native fisherman to the island

Native Fishermen: [speaking mandarin]

Man (V.O.): The name of the island they found me on is Lian Yu. It's mandarin for "purgatory". We've been stranded here for 5 years. I've dreamt of my rescue every cold black night since then. For 5 years, we  have had only one thought, one goal... survive... (they both remove their hoods and shows their face) survive and one day return home. [Fishing Boat] (one of the fishermen hands the man and boy water to drink)

Boy (V.O.): The island held many dangers. To live, we had to make myself more than what we were, to forge ourselves into weapons. We are returning not the boy and child who was shipwrecked but the me who will bring justice to those who have poisoned our city. My name is Y/n Barton.

[Starling City]

Television Anchorman: Oliver Queen and Y/n Barton are alive. The Starling City residents were found by fishermen in the North China sea 5 days ago, 5 years after they were missing and presumed dead following the accident at sea which claimed "The Queen's Gambit." Queen was a regular tabloid presence and a fixture at the Starling City club scene. Shortly before his disappearance, he was acquitted of assault charges stemming from a highly publicized drunken altercation with paparazzi. Queen is the son of Starling City billionaire Robert Queen, who was also on board but now officially confirmed as deceased along with the "Starling Knight" Bruce Barton, father of Y/n Barton.

At the Hospital Oliver who was now shaven looked out the hospital room window emotionless whilst the Doctor talks outside the room. In another Y/n started at wall almost like he was trying to look through it.

Doctor: 20% of his body is covered in scar tissue. Second-degree burns on his back and arms. X-rays show at least 12 fractures that never properly healed. (Camera pans to show a woman observing Oliver outside the room)

Woman: Has he said anything about what happened?

Doctor: No. He's barely said anything.

Woman: What about Y/n.

Doctor: Dear me, that boys is even worse, 50% scar tissue, he has Third Degree Burns, and X-ray, let's just his body his broken, Moira, that kid shouldn't be alive. I'd like you to prepare yourself. The Oliver and that happy go lucky kid you lost...might not be the ones they found. (The woman opens door and goes inside)

Moira: Oliver. (Oliver turns around)

Oliver: Mom. (They walk towards each other)

Moira: Oh... (on the precipice of tears) my beautiful boy. (They hug)

Y/n who was still staring at the wall suddenly stopped his ears flaring as he heard a noice for it to be a door.

Moira: Y/n

Y/n turned around looking at her and she could she the change.

Moira: Do you remember me?

Y/n: Of I do, Moira.

He smiled at her, and she could for a second she could that kid that she loved like her own. After Y/n mother died, she was closest thing he had to one.

Moria: Y/n would like you to come live us, just until your old enough.

Y/n: I would like that very much, Moria. One thing I don't think I want to do right now is be only.
