As anticipation arises, Mr Jones stares at the card that accommodates both names with an apprehensive expression. Students murmur as seconds pass by without any response, until an awkward cough from the crowd awoke Mr Jones from his daze. "Ah- Apologies! With that, the two students that will be investigating Brighton College's murder mystery will be..." Please be me "Ashton Clarke" Okay, please DON'T be me.

Out of the 300 students interested in this investigation, why did they pick the imprudent fool too lazy to even fix his bed hair. As I shoot Ashton a bitter glare, he was too busy jumping about in celebration with his friends. What a fool I tsk. I return my gaze to Mr Jones who is murmuring to a few other teachers nearby; specifically, teachers who voted the elected two students. He hands them the paper for reassurance, in which they nod. He hurries back to the microphone "Our second candidate... was a little different than I was expecting" he chuckles then continues "Our second investigator will be Elina Foxford".

The crowd bursts into murmurs. 'A girl? They're kidding, right?' I hear over and over as hundreds of eyes gaze intently in my direction. I feel an arm wrap around my shoulder and I look up at Ashton's wicked grin. "Well, guess I was wrong. Looks like a girl is going to an all-boys school everyone!" His wicked cackle echoes the room as students mimic his behaviour. Dread consumes my ambition of an early diploma at the thought of working with an egotistical boy, ESPICALLY for the duration of what might be the most important assignment of my life. Mr Jones abruptly states "To any confused individuals, both students will be wearing disguises if you have some doubts. Also, Ashton and Elina make your way to my office immediately." Right, disguises. I escape Ashton's grip before barging my way through the crowd. I'll prove to everyone here I'm capable of anything. Not only for this diploma, but for anybody who may doubt themselves when faced with the gaze of the wicked.
