Kelani looked back at the girl in the far end of the cell. He'd sat back and watched the whole conversation between the two as if they were long time friends.

He'd woken up from his sleep to the sound of Fancy shouting at his captor. His heart almost jumped out through his mouth, he was afraid of what the stranger might do to her.

To say that he was confused would be an understatement, how did the man who had been glaring daggers at him since he'd KIDNAPPED THEM! talk to Fancy so softly?

He got up and sat down facing her.
Fancy turned and looked at the door when the boy next to him moved.

The walls that had seemed to melt when she talked to their captor came right up ,she almost jumped when Kelani cleared his throat.

Funny thing was, the two had not talked to each other since the napping. She'd been silent and watched Kelani bang the bars threatening the nappers about how they were gonna pay when his dad founds them.

She had no idea for how long they'd been held there but it sure gave her one hell of a time to think about lots of things. Like how she wasn't supposed to be there in the first place, how they were going to kill her too if the guy he just talked some sense to decided not to listen to her.

She sighed and leaned her head on the iron bars. Did her mom know she was missing? She almost cried when she remembered Liam, she was going to miss that little guy so...

"uhm...I'm sorry for putting you in this mess "

Her eyes widened as they met oceanic blue ones. She almost turned back to look if he was talking to her but then remembered they were the only ones there.

Kelani watched as Fancy looked at him as if he'd grown two heads or...something and that made him nervously tap his feet.

He was so desperate to start a conversation that he'd not registered what came out of his mouth until those chocolatey eyes fell on him.

He'd felt as if all air had been forced out of his lungs. He looked down as he tried to find his breath, when he looked back up she was no longer looking at him.

He could see the wheels on her head turning, he mentally cursed himself.

He opted to shut his mouth and just watch her. He wasn't the most observant guy but he sure did notice that she'd lost a lot of weight.

As he watched her, he wondered what made her... special? Everytime he walked in a room, even with hundreds of people, somehow his eyes always found her, it always did.

He remembered the first time he'd saw her, he'd been talking to his friends, laughing  when his eyes, as if they had a mind of their own,had looked at the door.

He was first drawn in buy the chocolate eyes, it was the first thing he noticed before taking in her appearance.

From then on, his eyes always seemed to search for those eyes everytime he was in a crowd. He'd watch her interact with others but somehow those eyes never seemed to meet his.

There was just something ....different about her that singled her out of other girls he met.

So strong yet  fragile.
So perfect yet flawed.
Very kind yet fierce
She was just so out of place, like she didn't deserve to be here but somehow she always fit.

And there was him, selfish, arrogant ,thick skull.
He'd seen Fancy with her family, it was small but definitely happy. She loved them, and they seem to love her too.

His family was broken, his siblings had followed their fathers footsteps and were full-time jerks.
No one seemed to care for their bedridden mother except for him.

He sighed and looked away.

"You know when I first saw you... you were just so perfect "

Fancy was not sure if she was having a dream or if it was real. Kelani apologizing and saying she was perfect the same day?
The same boy who'd haunted her past, called her disgusting to her face, he was the main cause of her nightmares.

Yeah she was not buying it

"You had these habit of being yourself all the time... So kind, happy .hats what made me not like you "

Fancy scoffed and crossed her arms.

"oh sorry! Did my heart hurt your knife? "

Kelani flinched at her words. They were so.... harsh yet true, he was acting like the victim in this but he was the villain.
He  run his fingers through his hair in frustration.

"You don't understand... I was coming from a tough place."

"Yeah right, it's not like we are coming from heaven or something "

Kelani sighed sadly and looked down at his feet. She was right, nothing he said would excuse what he did to her.

Fancy rolled her eyes, one thing that irked her was that she cared, she always cared ,even towards the bad people. She still cared even now when Kelani looked like a kicked puppy.

"Look no one is perfect,we are all broken because thats how light gets in.... but don't bleed on my floor okay? just... try to heal without disturbing anyone. "

"That's what the least decent person would try to do"

Kelani was dumbstruck .
