"Okay, deep breaths,"I mumbled to myself, This was it. My first day at the internship. I'm so nervous about making a good impression.
Then I saw this lady working there, and I decided to approach her.

"Hi, I'm Tara Sharma , I'm here for the internship,"I said, trying to sound confident.

She pointed me towards a desk with a nameplate that read 'Mr. Mihir Malhotra' .I took a deep breath and approached the desk.

"Mr Malhotra?" I asked, my voice a little shaky.

He looked up from his computer, his face a mask of indifference. "Yes?"

My heart sank. This was the guy I bumped into a couple of minutes ago , the one who'd given me that withering look. He was my boss!? . He probably still thought I was clumsy and inconsiderate. who cares even if he thinks so, but he's the boss he can fire me as well!! God why always me!??

"I'm Tara Sharma , the intern,"I said, trying to sound professional.

He just nodded curtly, his eyes scanning me.
"Right. You can start by organizing these files."He tossed a stack of papers on the desk, barely making eye contact.

"Okay,"I said, taking the papers. I was surprised at how cold he was. I mean, I didn't expect a big welcome party but I didn't expect this either!

"And try to be more mindful of your surroundings next time,"he said, his voice icy as he turned back to his computer.

I had the urge to give him a piece of my mind, but then I thought my job might be at risk, so I ended up saying nothing.

I just stared at the pile of papers, a knot of anxiety forming in my stomach. Great. This was going to be a long internship.

As the day went on, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease every time I had to interact with him . He seemed to have no patience for me, and I found myself avoiding him as much as possible.

The office was done for the day. I walked out of the office building with my head hung low, feeling exhausted after my first day on the job. I had been excited to start my new position, but my boss's cold behavior quickly put a damper on my enthusiasm. I couldn't help but think that he was not a good person. Well not really.i don't know him personally so I can't judge him either. Aghhh!! It's so complicated!!

As I began the journey home, my thoughts were consumed by the day's events. I replayed every interaction with my boss in my mind,I couldn't shake the feeling that he had it out for me from the start.

By the time I reached my front door, I was exhausted and emotionally drained. I sighed as I turned the key, feeling grateful to be home at last. But even as I settled onto the couch, I couldn't shake the feeling that my new job was going to be a major challenge.

I knew that I had to find a way to make it work, but how? I wasn't sure. All I knew was that I couldn't let my boss's behavior get the best of me. I had to stay strong and keep pushing forward, no matter what. "Okayy Tara stop it!!! You're just overthinking!!" I reassure my self

After a couple of minutes I called my best friend, Srishti. She picks up the call in first ring

"Spill the tea, girl!"Srishti exclaims, her voice bubbling with energy even over the phone.

"It was kinda disaster ,"I sigh, recounting the day's events. "First, I bumped into this guy in the hallway, totally oblivious, and he was like, 'Watch where you're going, !' Then Turns out, he was my boss! He was so cold, it was like I committed a crime just by breathing the same air as him."

"Oh my god, that's terrible !"Srishti gasps, "but wait, was he handsome?"

"He was..."I hesitate, "okay, he was kinda hot, but he was also the peak of grumpy."

"Ooh, grumpy boss, huh? That just makes him more attractive! Think about it, he's probably just hiding a soft side under all that coldness ."

I roll my eyes. "Srishti , you're being senseless."

"But imagine the drama!" Srishti squeals, her voice dripping with excitement. "Think of all the office romance tropes! The grumpy boss who falls for the innocent intern, the stolen glances, the forbidden love... it's practically a Bollywood movie waiting to happen!"

'"Srishti , please," I groan, "I'm not looking for romance in the workplace, especially not with my boss! And besides, this is neither a movie nor a book to have a fictional delulu boss"

"Relax! I was just kidding" she exclaims and laughs.

"This isn't funnyy!!"

" acha okayyyy leave it and also turns out that he's Dhruv's (her guy *JUST*friend) best friend! Well I've got to know about everything, from the route of your company to the people of your company!!." "Stay away from a girl named Riya, she isn't in anyone's good book " She adds

"YOU SHOULD BE A DETECTIVE GIRL!" I claim in surprise.
"Hahaha i know I know" she replies.......

The clock ticked, each second a tiny hammer blow against my already frayed nerves. Sleep was a distant memory, replaced by the relentless replay of today's encounter. Tara. Her smile, the way her eyes crinkled at the corners, the warmth that seemed to radiate from her like an internal sun. And me, a frozen statue, responding in clipped sentences, keeping my distance.

"She's just an intern," I muttered to myself, the words tasting like ash in my mouth. "She's just a face in the crowd." But the truth was, she wasn't just another face. There was something about her, a spark, a connection that resonated with me in a way no one else had in years.

My past, a dark cloud hanging over me, dictated my every move. I couldn't afford to let anyone in, not again. The pain, the betrayal, it still burned, a raw wound that wouldn't heal.
"No she isn't for me" I mumble to myself

After couple of minutes , a strange sensation washed over me. A wave of warmth, like a blanket being pulled over me. The thoughts, once so loud, began to fade, morphing into a hazy, indistinct murmur.

"Okay,"I thought, a sliver of hope flickering in the darkness. "Maybe, just maybe, I can finally sleep."

And with that, I drifted. The world around me dissolved into a sea of soft, comforting darkness. The thoughts, once so insistent, were gone, replaced by a quiet stillness that felt like a long-lost friend.
