Samira took merza and I to the hospital,after we sat at the restaurant to eat.
Merza: what really happened between you and my uncle?
Samira:hmm,it all started many years go.
Flashback
Samira's POV
Hakim and I have been married for five years now.We met when I was only seventeen.He was nineteen at the Time.
Our families got us married Early because we couldn't stay away from each other.
I was now twenty two and happily married.Our house was a compound house linked with his family's house,but we had our privacy.
Today Hakim came home early.He looked worried.
Samira: what's wrong?
Hakim:umm,I need to tell you something,sit(we sat) I want another wife.
(I froze.)
Hakim: I know this is hard for you,but I promise you,am going to shower you with the same love and respect,you just need to be patient and share my time that's all.Its still going to be like old times.
(He tried to convince me, but all I heard was my heart beating very fast.I couldn't help the tears that came down my face.He wiped away my tears)
Hakim: don't cry, everything is going to be fine.
Samira:why?
Hakim:umm dear, it's been five years,you haven't been able to conceive.
Samira:I am 22 years old, what was the rush?!
Hakim:dear,you..
Samira: just say you fell for another, don't give me those lies.
Hakim:dear I still love you.
Samira:you don't love me.
Hakim: offcourse I do,if I didn't I would have divorced you for being Baren.
Samira: I am not baren!! Don't you ever say that! If you truly loved me,you would let me go! But you are selfish,that is why you have decided to keep me in such a marriage, knowing farewell that it will hurt me!
Hakim:I know it hurts but..
Samira:no you know nothing!you are a selfish man Hakim! I hate you !
(I walked off.I cried my eyes out that night.Two weeks later,they were in the hall making preparations for the new bride.I never spoke to Hakim ever again.His parents and himself approached me)
Abu:we know this isn't easy for you,but with time you will get over it.Dont be angry with Hakim.
Samira: so you expect me to be happy and clap my hands for him? As he marries another? Is that it?
Mariam:dear relax, have faith,things will get better.
Samira:why can't you just stop this Hakim?(I broke down in tears) does my heart not matter to you?
Hakim:it does, that's why I promise to love you more and treat you better,trust me.
Samira: I can never trust you, because you are selfish.I don't even know why am still here.
Hakim:you can't leave me.
Samira:why?
Hakim: because the pain is temporary,with time you will get over it.and me getting another wife is not a reason for a divorce.You need to be patient.
Abu: remember polygamy is something Allah has allowed,if you ask for a divorce, that means you are going against the will of Allah.That is a sin.
