Kuromiya Rei
Points accumulated:489/500

'Congratulations Kuromiya-san!','That's so impressive','As always Kuromiya-san,you did well','Your parents must be so proud of you'. Praises rang from all corners of the school through my ears every time around this year almost as if it was a routine. Was it insensitive of me to say that when the failing students are eliminated after these results? Probably not right?

Elite Honors Academy,a school where anyone who is somebody goes to. The school was operating from the United Kingdom, looking after its branches in different parts of the world. Almost each and every student is filthy rich with a powerful name to support them from behind. A school where your grades determine your position in the class and where even a minor mistake in actions or words may be the start of the downfall of the family reputation. All eyes were on each and everyone, waiting to benefit from the ruin of others.

Being the only child of the Director of the very own Elite Honors Academy i attend to,was the last strand of sanity that snapped in me. The expectation upon me to be on top, on time and on routine was slowly making me numb to these human emotions that could be felt or perceived. Life just went along without meaning and I have grown accustomed to the principle that to be successful was the purpose of life, anything but that was a distraction.

"Good job,Rei",it was difficult to tell the underlying feelings from the monotone appraisal that rings through the phone."Do better than that for the upcoming final year. Take care"

"Yeah. I got it". Was that a normal conversation for a father and a daughter who live 5000 miles apart? To me,it was. Considering the fact that my own father who operated the Elite Honors Academy branches from UK sent me off to Japan because competition was higher among students here, affection or concern was out of the talk.

Words of appraisal were meant to come from strangers but not the family and my accomplishments were to be exaggerated by people who don't know me at all. What I get from my family will be higher expectations and cold praises that do not even get to the heart. At least it was nothing new to me.

Final year of high school would be starting two days after with the same and constant schedule of going and returning from the academy, studying extra hours after school again until it the year finally wraps up again. It's a normal cycle all over again so I'd be fine this year too. Keep it up Rei,you're almost free.

"Miss Kuromiya,I would like to meet you after school". The homeroom teacher was already on the move from the very first day. I had expected my Dad to make a move sooner or later anyway and i saw it coming after stepping into the final year.

Murmurs instantly filled the classroom after she left and i could already tell that it was nothing other than the so-called 'daughter-privilege' that they chose to talk about. Little did they know that it comes with expectations higher than what they can ever achieve. But people love to talk about things they don't know anyway..

"Kuromiya-san",your Class Representative,Yuki approached you while you were packing your bag to leave,"Do you want to join our study grou-"

"No". I didn't stutter or feel the need to think twice.

" But please a lot of the students need help in their stud-"

"No". I sternly repeated myself, but this time, with a deadpan stare right into her eyes. I noticed her attempts to get the class together right away from the start as the representative which to me,was entirely unnecessary.
