Stretching out his hand, China pulled on a pair of leather gloves.
Every personification sent to Earth had to wear a sort of uniform, and China and America were no exception. The uniform usually consisted of all black clothing, a mask, and a couple of straps and buckles China didn't care to know the use for.
"You ready for this?" An accent-ridden voice asked.
China looked over to his side, meeting eyes with his now so-called partner. America was already fully geared up, smiling lazily as he rested his hands on his hips. China gave the personification an unamused look. "You're brining your glasses?" China asked, completely ignoring the first question.
"Sunglasses." America corrected. "I don't go anywhere without 'em."
China just hummed, turning back away. He was about to say something smart when he noticed a figure walking up to the pair.
"You two!" South Korea called, waving enthusiastically. The personification was donned in a white lab coat and gloves, a pair of goggles set firmly on his face. "You both are ready for teleportation, yes?"
China and America nodded.
"Great! Follow me."
Trailing behind South Korea, the American-Chinese duo were led to the portal room's entrance. The doors were large and tall, built out of metal and bolted down to the wall. It was an intimidating sight, so to say.
"Okay, so I know you two already know how this works, but I still have to run-down some stuff." South Korea explained. He pointed at two lights above the entrance, one red and the other green. "Watch these two lights carefully. Only when the green light starts flashing you should go in. Otherwise, the portal is still not ready. You both know where you're arriving, yes?"
China nodded, "In Rouen, France. City where Farahmand was killed."
South Korea smiled approvingly. "Good. I'll be heading out now. Be careful, you two."
And with that, South Korea made his leave. A long silence stretched between the two superpowers as they watched the two lights, only broken when the green light started loudly beeping and flashing.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"That's the signal." America said. He looked at China, hand on the door. "Do you want the honors?"
China sucked in a deep breath, calming his nerves. He shrugged. "Sure. 為什麼不."

Walking past the door, China was immediately met by a flash of color, momentarily blinding him. Wind gushed at China, attacking his face and ruffling through his clothing.
All the while, whip-like cracks and explosion-like booms filled the air, getting only louder as China made his way deeper into the room. He could barely hear his own thoughts. Only when China's eyes finally adjusted, the source of all this chaos was revealed.
A large metal structure, center in the middle of the room.
The structure was shaped similar to a circular arch, reaching the height of almost 18 meters (60 feet). The arch was covered in multiple sheets of metal and wires, two poles extending to each leg of the arch to stabilize it.
Under the arch, powerful magic surged, creating the very essence of the portal to Earth. Staring into the portal was like staring at a blinding rainbow, just a mixture of colors and shades.
