The boy slowly opens his eyes, squinting in the sunlight that's streaming in through the window.

He rubs his sleepy eyes with his fists and yawns widely, before slowly getting out of bed.

His feet touch the cold floor, sending a shiver up his spine; he quickly grabs his slippers and slides them on.

He shuffles to the door, pausing for a moment to stretch lazily before heading downstairs.

I'm trying to sleep, but someone keeps knocking on my door.

It's really annoying, and I have no idea who it is.

I yell at them to go away, but they just keep knocking.

Finally, I get up and answer the door, only to find that my neighbor Ara is there.

I have no idea what's going on, but this is really getting on my nerves.

I check my phone, it's 7:50.

"You promised we would walk together!"

"Did I?"

"Of course. We agreed to meet at 7:30 and walk to school." "Now it's almost 8 and you're just waking up!"

"I'm sorry, I must have overslept. Let me get dressed and we'll go."

We arrive at school, late again.
"Hey! Kubaru!"

A familiar voice calls my name.

A dark-haired girl walks toward me.

Good Morning Kimitomi! Says Ara, towards the dark haired girl.

Kimitomi's tone of voice is calm, but I can see the disappointment in her eyes.

Kimitomi was always someone who got upset by the weirdest things, and today was no exception.

She was annoyed with her two friends for being late to class.

"Time is money!" she exclaimed. "The class started an hour ago!"

Her friends tried to explain that they had lost track of time, but Kimitomi wasn't having any of it.

She was convinced that they were just wasting her time, and she didn't want to waste any more of it on them.

The bell rings, signaling the end of classes.

Those with club activities stay after class since Ara is in Pottery Club, I leave alone.

I don't mind, I'm used to it.

My parents work late hours and I'm used to coming home to an empty house.

It's not lonely, just quiet.

But today, as I walk home alone, I can't help but feel a little left out.

I see the girls in my class huddled together, laughing and joking as they walk to their club activity.

They seem so close, like they're family.

And while I'm happy for them, I can't help but feel a little jealous.
