Today seems like another day in life, I open up the curtains and let in some beautiful sun light, I love how I can feel the warmth on my skin.

The air and the sun, it's a beautiful combination and something I try appreciate every single day.

I try to appreciate the little things in life whilst I can, life is hard with cancer.

But that's not what this book is about, I want to teach you how to enjoy life, live like your leaving it.

I grab my shoes, white with pink patterns around it, I think they look beautiful; some people have said some... unkind stuff about them, but I don't care.

Walking outside, the world looks... wrong.

Trees are damaged, homes are destroyed, abandons fires spread across the street.

There are this group called "Lens" that have been acting like bandits.

They've been going around the country, destroyed anything they see, they are trying to protest against the government.

But why are they doing it this way?

They are harming innocent people just because of something they believe in? Yes the government is rough, they have done bad things, but it doesn't justify them acting like that.

I'm going to try see if I can find my friend Alex, he struggles to go outside a lot and I like to help him where I can.

Although he says that he should be the one helping me, I don't mind, we help eachother.

I'm not even sure what road I am on, all the signs have been tripped down, I have only moved in last week so I'm not used to this area yet.

I pull out my cracked and grey phone, it's been damaged a lot through the years.

The first crack was from falling out of a tree I climbed last year.

I still remember this despite how long it has been.

It was summer, boiling hot, there was a very tall tree that I spotted; I just had an impulse to climb it and so I did.

I grabbed the tree, started climbing up, one foot on one branch, one hand on the other; I didn't even need to think or to look down, I just kept going.

I probably should have looked at the branches tho...

One branch was a tiny bit thinner then I expected, I grabbed a branch that looked quite unstable, it snapped beneath my feet; I ended up falling around 15 feet, suprisingly I wasn't too badly injured, but my phone was badly cracked.

I got a few scratches on my knee and I pulled my back quite badly, but overall I was mostly okay.

The second and the worst crack was when I ran into the "Lens" for the first and hopefully the last time.

I was walking around the area, I'd only lived here for a few days; I had no idea about the area or anything like that, I didn't even know what road I was on.

I just hear screaming, running and then all of a sudden, a group of about 4 hooded men turn up asking who I was.

"Mae" I said,
"That not a proper answer, who are you?" One of the hooded men asked
"What do you want to know?" I asked,
"What's your side?" The same man asked,
"Side? I'm confused." I said,
"Rat." I heard a different man call.

Sirens were going off in the distance, someone must have ratted them out... they thought I did.

Next thing I know I woke up in the hospital with my phone shattered to pieces; I wasn't sure what happened and I didn't want to know, I just wanted to go home.

Anyways, that enough blabbering about memories.

Even tho those memories where quite badly, it's still important to remember the bad times.

I believe you can only appreciate the good times, by going through and remembering your bad times.

Anyways, I'll update when I meet Alex, hopefully I can find him.

See you soon diary!
-Mae
