Chapter 2: Seoul Calling

Seoul was a bustling, vibrant city, and DojaCat quickly found herself immersed in the Kpop industry. She worked tirelessly at SM Entertainment, writing and producing songs for some of the biggest names in Kpop. Her unique style and creative flair earned her respect and recognition within the industry.

But it wasn’t just her career that flourished. DojaCat’s cousin, San, was a member of ATEEZ, one of the hottest K-pop groups. Their bond had always been strong, and having family in the same industry made the transition to life in Seoul easier.

“Cousin!” San greeted her with a hug when she visited the ATEEZ dorm. “I still can’t believe you’re here. It’s like a piece of home followed me.”

DojaCat laughed. “I know, right? It’s surreal.”

San introduced her to his bandmates, and they immediately hit it off. Among them, Seonghwa and Wooyoung, in particular, became close friends, often joining her for late-night studio sessions and spontaneous adventures around the city.

One evening, while they were hanging out in the dorm, San brought up an idea. “Doja, why don’t you try out as a Kpop idol yourself? You’ve got the talent and the presence. It could be amazing.”

The idea intrigued her. She loved writing and producing, but the thought of performing her own music on stage ignited a spark within her. With San’s encouragement, she decided to audition for SM Entertainment as a trainee.

The next morning, Lihle woke up with a mix of excitement and nerves. She couldn’t stop thinking about San’s suggestion. Becoming a K-pop idol herself was a bold move, but the idea of performing her own music on stage was exhilarating. She decided to give it a shot.

The SM Entertainment building was a sleek, modern structure filled with buzzing activity. As Lihle walked through the halls, she passed by numerous trainees practicing their routines, each one focused and determined. It was inspiring to see so many young people chasing their dreams.

At the audition, Lihle performed a song she had written herself, combining her African and Korean heritage in a unique blend. She danced with a passion that came from deep within her, showcasing her versatility and creativity.

The judges watched intently, their expressions hard to read. When she finished, there was a moment of silence before they started clapping.

“Lihle, you have a unique style and incredible potential,” said the head judge. “We’d like to offer you a spot as a trainee.”

Lihle's heart soared. This was the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

Training at SM Entertainment was intense. Lihle's days were filled with vocal lessons, dance practices, and language classes. She had to learn to sing in Korean fluently, perfect her dance moves, and maintain her physical fitness. It was grueling, but she loved every moment of it.

Her fellow trainees were talented and driven, each with their own dreams of stardom. Despite the competitive environment, Lihle found a few close friends who shared her passion for music and dance.

One evening, after a particularly exhausting dance practice, Lihle and her new friends—Yuna, a fiery dancer with a big personality, and Minho, a quiet but immensely talented singer—decided to grab some dinner at a nearby Korean BBQ restaurant.

“You’re amazing, Doja,” Yuna said, using Lihle's stage name as they grilled meat at the table. “I’ve never seen someone blend different styles so effortlessly.”
