DojaCat’s life had always been a tapestry of cultures and experiences. Born as Lihle Choi in East London, South Africa, to a Black South African mother and a South Korean father, she grew up navigating the rich diversity of her heritage. Her mother, a respected judge, and her father, a renowned actor, had instilled in her and her siblings a deep appreciation for their multifaceted identity.

Lihle ’s twin brother, Kwan, resembled their mother with his strikingly Asian features, while she and her older sister, Sihle, inherited their mother's blend of African and Korean traits. Despite their differences, they were close-knit family, supporting each other in their individual pursuits.

From a young age, Lihle was drawn to music. She spent hours in her room, creating beats and writing lyrics, sharing her creations on YouTube. Her channel quickly gained traction, and her unique sound caught the attention of SM Entertainment, one of South Korea’s biggest entertainment companies.

At 20, she received an offer to move to Seoul and work as a songwriter and producer for SM Entertainment. It was a dream come true, but leaving her family and her life in South Africa was daunting.

“Lihle, this is your chance to shine,” her mother said, holding her hands. “We’ll always be here for you, no matter where you go.”

Her father nodded, a proud smile on his face. “Make us proud, my star.”

With their blessings, Lihle, now known by her stage name DojaCat, embarked on a new journey, ready to carve out a place for herself in the competitive world of Kpop.

Lihle/DojaCat’s POV

DojaCat, or Lihle Choi as she was known to her family and friends, stood in the crowded airport of East London, South Africa, taking a deep breath. She looked around, taking in the last glimpses of home before her flight to Seoul. Her twin brother, Kwan, stood beside her, his features mirroring their father's Korean heritage more than their mother's African roots. His dark eyes sparkled with excitement.

"You're going to rock it over there," Kwan said, nudging her playfully. "Just remember to stay true to yourself."

"I will," Lihle promised, squeezing his hand. Her older sister, Sihle, joined them, her warm smile radiating pride.

"You've always been the star, hle," Sihle said, using her childhood nickname. "Make sure the world sees what we've always known."

Their father, a towering figure with a commanding presence, pulled her into a tight hug. "Remember, no matter where you go, you're a Choi. Proud and strong."

Lihle’s mother, a composed and elegant woman, handed her a small pendant. "This is for good luck," she said softly. "Wear it, and remember that we're always with you."

Lihle took the pendant, tears welling in her eyes. It was a delicate piece of jewelry with a yin-yang symbol, representing balance—a perfect reminder of her dual heritage.

As she boarded the plane, Lihle glanced back at her family one last time. Their smiles and words of encouragement echoed in her mind, fueling her determination. She was ready to take on Seoul and the world, armed with her talent and the love of her family.

Seoul was a sensory overload—bright lights, bustling streets, and a language that was still new to her. Amara quickly settled into her new life at SM Entertainment, where her days were filled with songwriting, producing, and intensive training sessions. Her unique background and creative flair quickly caught the attention of her peers and supervisors.

Her first major project was writing a song for Red Velvet, one of SM Entertainment's top girl groups. The pressure was immense, but Lihle thrived under it. She poured her heart into the lyrics and melody, drawing from her experiences in South Africa and her newfound love for Korean culture.

One afternoon, as she was working in the studio, the door opened, and San, her cousin from ATEEZ, walked in. His face lit up when he saw her.

"Lihle! Or should I say DojaCat now?" San teased, pulling her into a hug. "It's so good to see you."

"It's good to see you too, San," she replied, smiling. "How's the idol life treating you?"

San laughed. "Busy, but amazing. I'm so glad you're here. If you need anything, just let me know."

As they caught up, San introduced her to his bandmates, who happened to be in the building. They were all warm and welcoming, making her feel at home.

"DojaCat, you have to come to one of our practices," Wooyoung said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "We'd love to show you what we've been working on."

"I'd love that," she replied, feeling a surge of excitement. She had always admired ATEEZ's energy and talent.

Over the next few weeks, Lihle balanced her work as a songwriter and producer with her trainee schedule. Her days were long, starting with vocal lessons at dawn, followed by dance practices that pushed her to her limits and ended with late-night recording sessions. But every challenge she faced only strengthened her resolve.

Her cousin San was a constant source of support. He often dropped by to check on her, bringing snacks and offering advice. One evening, after a particularly grueling dance practice, San found her sitting alone in the studio, her face buried in her hands.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked gently, sitting down beside her.

Lihle looked up, tears brimming in her eyes. "It's just... so hard sometimes. I feel like I'm not good enough."

San wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Lihle, you are more than good enough. You have a unique talent and a story that the world needs to hear. Don't let the pressure get to you. Take it one step at a time."

His words were comforting, reminding her of her family's unwavering support. "Thanks, San. I needed that."

As the days went by, Lihle's confidence grew. She threw herself into her work with renewed vigor, determined to prove herself. Her big break came when she was invited to collaborate on a song with NCT, another popular SM group. The opportunity was both thrilling and terrifying, but she embraced it with open arms.

During the collaboration, Lihle bonded with the members of NCT, especially with Taeyong, who shared her passion for music production. They spent countless hours in the studio, experimenting with sounds and perfecting their track.

"Your style is so fresh and different," Taeyong remarked one evening as they worked on the final mix. "It's exactly what we need."

Lihle smiled, feeling a sense of pride. "Thanks, Taeyong. I just want to create something that people can connect with."

Their hard work paid off. The song, titled "Unity," became an instant hit, showcasing Lihle's unique fusion of African rhythms and Kpop melodies. It was a pivotal moment in her career, cementing her place in the industry
