"You might want your wand."

Y/N looks to the doorway at Remus. "Why?"

He's got her brother in his arms "Well, because of the people Slughorn socializes with, the Death Eaters have been pestering him. Trying to get him to join their side and all that. So it's best you're protected."

She looks to her nightstand for a second before walking over and taking her wand out. "Anything else?"

The man steps in. "You should wear a hood."

"Okay," Y/N nods. "so glad I agreed to this. As if Harry isn't enough to attract a social climber."

"You say it like you've got something against the man."

"I don't, but I do have reservations about someone who wants to 'collect' me." She notes. "Forgive me, but I don't trust him for what I've been told."

Remus pushes ever so slightly. "That's fair enough, but if Dumbledore trusts him, so should we."

She wants to tell him that she doesn't even fully trust in Dumbledore or his intentions, but instead, the girl puts her hood up. "Good?"

"Perfect."

Sparks puts her wand in her pocket and heads for the hall, Lupin following.

"You do remember what he told you, yes?"

"To be nice? Of course." It was salt in an open wound.

A voice comes for the foyer as the two make it to the stairs. "Ah, Y/N. Ready to go then?"

She nods and approaches Dumbledore like her thought from just a second ago never happened, taking his hand and soon disappearing into the night.

Usually the arrival in apparition is that of ten rollercoasters, but this time is hardly one.

"Not your first time doing that?" Dumbledore asks.

"Not even close." Y/N notes, walking past him towards Privet Drive. "I do hope you understand the kind of people we're about to see."

He follows her down the road. "I'm quite aware of them, Y/N."

The urge to say he could've fooled her is like the urge to drink water in the desert.

"And he does know we're coming?"

"Indeed."

"What about them?"

Silence.

As the two of them approach the door, Y/N gets a bad feeling. It's not that she feels danger or worry, more like distaste. That feeling that she has to be insincerely kind to people who don't offer the same.

The sound of the door knocker is followed by an agitated. "Who the blazes is calling at this time of night!"

"lovely.." She mutters.
